...or maybe the t-shirt expresses that "catch up" sounds like "ketchup".

I don't get this thread at all. It seems every one of your posts has been about how much this album sucks, and how it's not innovative. Who gives a fuck? If you don't like it, fair enough, move on, listen to something else and hope that their next record is more up your street. There's no point being bitter about how much it disappointed you, and trying to convince people who like it that it's not actually good. People are going to think differently to you, that doesn't make them any less knowledgeable about music, or care about what other artists have done what Linkin Park did with ATS "better".

All your posts come across as lectures and some kind of higher power preaching to convince the masses that ATS is in fact a bad record. It's all your opinion. People think different. There's no right or wrong answer. You think what you want, let others think what they want. I'm sure LP are very sorry they haven't lived up to your expectations and I'm sure they'll try very hard to impress you on their next album. Until then, why not just chill out and let go of the bitterness?

PS, I still have no fucking clue what that tee has to do with anything you're saying.

The staff are just unwitting pawns in Mike's evil plot to deceive fans into actually liking ATS, against the better judgement of people who namedrop older critically acclaimed artists and are therefore better than you.

I'm pretty sure we did the t-shirt for laughs and to have fun, and not to tell the older fans to "catch up" to the new sound.

No offense but you're coming off as an extreme crackhead.

Obviously, you're all missing the point here...

I think this "ketchup" shirt does a lot to deny the hardships of Asian people, pushing them back hundreds of thousands of years.

As if it weren't bad enough that Mike Shinoda looks like a goofball with that silly expression on his face, he's in a BUTLER'S SUIT. As if to say Asians are only good enough to wait on the White Man. Because despite everything that Asian people have gone through, especially in the media, the best thing we can do is showcase an Asian man in a butler's uniform serving ketchup. KETCHUP. A CONDIMENT! Not a sandwich, but that which you put ON a sandwich. It just further proves that despite the campaigning of Asian-Americans in our age, that despite everything the Asian people have done to better their role in modern-day culture and society, this "ketchup" shirt simply undoes that and sends the wrong message. Furthermore, when splattered on a surface, ketchup looks like blood. Does no one here see the resemblance between this and Pearl Harbor?!

The artist who drew that t-shirt should be ashamed for insulting Asians everywhere. He should learn that sometimes IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT. He's probably not even Asian.

I dont mean it was intentional from Lpassociation, it just looked like something fitting perfectly to their attitude. And as I said in an older post this board is full enough of extreme-pro-LP, I rather take the task of balancing it, by prooving many hardcore-fans beeing self-deceaving and highly dependent, so they can face the truth and in fact - catch up!

You can't expect people on a LINKIN PARK forum to NOT be pro-LP.

To be fair, there are a bunch of people here who think the new record is shit, they just don't preach to others trying to convince them their opinion is right. They just move on and do their own thing, listen to what they want and aren't butt hurt that other people actually might like it. Also, OHAI thur extreme-pro-LP card, I wondered when you would show up.

You're no saviour, your bitter attitude makes you come off as a disgruntled Hybrid Theory fan. The only thing you're proving and convincing people is that you make no sense and the pedestal you've put yourself on is far from justified.

I'm just going to pretend that you never brought up the shirt (which is confusing as fuck to me still) and assume you're just talking about the album.

Anyways, Linkin Park has never said A Thousand Suns is comparable to Bob Marley or the Beatles. All Mike is saying is that he doesn't feel obligated to make the same music over and over again (making every album sound like Hybrid Theory). He isn't saying if you don't like the new music, you're a "Motherfucker." That's something you need to understand. I'll give you this: yes, some fans have indeed taken that line too far and are in fact mocking people if they don't like ATS by bringing up that line. Although I haven't seen it much on these boards. But I think it's pretty damn obvious that Mike, along with the rest of the band, didn't have the same intentions.

"If you like the album, we appreciate it. If you don't like...then go and find something else." I remember this is what exactly Chester said during an MTV interview.
As almost everyone is going electronic nowadays, they're just experimenting other possiblities of the new technology involved in making music.

    Amen!
PS, I tried the ketchup. It was fantastic. Some might go so far as to say I've called it a masterpiece. It was epic, thematic and tasty for my ears.:awesome:

I see, so "Try the Ketchup Motherf*cker!" isn't 'audiophilic' enough.

I graduated with a PhD from Audiophile University. The PhD was in SERIOUS audiophile-ness. It took me 7 years to get the Serious part, and then the next 14 years to be able to turn it all caps.

And I earned this badge too.
