The thing is, we don't know what the band could be doing. They may have wanted to just create a one-off acoustic track as a "thank you for your support/understanding", or they very well could have created this track as part of a bigger plan to make an acoustic EP. Only time will tell. I can tell you that myself, and probably over 80% of the fanbase wouldn't mind an acoustic EP from the band. It's something the band has never done before, and it'd be fun.
I personally wouldn't automatically link that photo to the acoustic v. of "Masquerade". They probably had that track done and dusted well before that particular meeting. That or the photo was taken long before it was posted
Just so everyone's clear ... the band has never even hinted that an EP would be in the cards as the follow-up to "The Hunting Party". This is all pure fan speculation.
I don't expect Linkin Park to ever work up an EP again. Just pure fan talk that will likely never happen.

I don't know how to link to the specific video, but they did a live stream about an hour ago on facebook. They just goofed around though, and Mike gave a "taste" of what they were writing, which consisted of about half a second of a drum machine.
