Probably their best album. It's a great combination of their first two efforts which I personally loved.
I like it so far. It's heavier than their previous albums which were so-so. Although I'm a bit biased towards liking them because I want to see something besides Nelly and Chingy to come out of St. Louis
The Black Swan is my favorite album of the year. I love every song. Here's a tip: If you've got a system in your car, play this album. It will break your windows.
Page Avenue was a great album back in the day. Haven't really paid attention to them since but I'll probably try their last two now.
Am I the only one that finds these guys generic and boring? I don't like any of their riffs or choruses. I think I listened to the first 7 tracks and all I liked was the intro/outro and chorus to "wake up".
Just listened to it, freaking awesome! The build-up and intro to Welcome To Our New War is truly epic.
I heard one song from it while I had all of my music on shuffle. I forgot which one but it was quite good.
Am I the only one who thinks this album has some pre-MTM LP-like guitar riffs and overall sound? Tell Me (Pac)'s chorus is also very LP-like. I know I might sound like a total fanboy, drawing parallels between bands of different genres, but still. XD
Because their rhythm guitarist sounds like Saosin's singer? Anyway, "Tell Me (P.A.C.)" sounds nothing like Linkin Park. I can't figure out how people are drawing that conclusion at all.
Great album overall. Only disliked a few songs. I especially liked "Welcome to Our New War", "Wake Up", and "Tell Me (P.A.C.)". "Choose Your Fate" does the same kind of thing that "State of the Union" did on Rise Against's "Siren Song of the Counter Culture". I found that it worked well for this album.
It's absolutely the weirdest thing in the world to listen to Story of the Year's new album and then Page Avenue. The worst part is all their older material (when their singer was still their drummer) sounds more like The Black Swan than Page Avenue. So really, it could be argued that they sold out on their debut, and now they're going back to their old sound. But to be fair, their producer on their first album was Goldfinger's singer, and they're a very pop punk-oriented band, so the influence was obviously shifted that way. But now that they've got their own freedom, they've gone back to their roots, and I can honestly say their new album is their best effort yet.
been waiting for this since like december and im not dissapointed one bit. great album. Only a few songs that i dont love and even those i still like. guess now that i got this i can start waiting for my other 2 most anticipated albums, rise against, and the used.
Apparently there are at least 5 b-sides for the cd. 2 iTunes exlusives and 3 bonus tracks on the Japanese release. Anybody heard any of them?
