If you like great basslines, I recommend listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers, a lot of their songs awesome basslines.

    Erm...
Phoenix doesn't do the bass on Runaway, Brad did. And when Phoenix does it live...it's not slap. And Brad didn't slap on HT..what are you talking about?

    Forgotten - Linkin Park
    The Maxwell Murder - Rancid
    A lot of old Taproot...RHCP...
    Tool - Aenima, Schism, Parabol/Parabola
    some 311...

Chris: The White Stripes don't have a bassist...

KoRn - Freak on a leash
    Linkin Park- Forgotten
    P.O.D. - Revolution
    Staind - Fade
    Crazy Town - Decorated

In genereal, i believe KoRn's Fieldy is my fav. bassist. His style is so awesome (his bass's treble is so high i sometimes think it's the drums ), and even though he sound too raw and not melodic, he and Silveria are the best rythm couple (Drums+ Bass).

WTF!!! I saw the title and was SO going to put that down.... Damn you lol. Yeah isn't it a baritone guitar or something?

I like Quarashi's song "Baseline". Pretty good baseline from what little I know of bass.

I did a little looking around in the HT booklet...and your right to an extent. Ian Hornbeck played bass on Papercut, A Place For My Head, and Forgotten.
Scott Koziol played on One Step Closer and was the touring bassist.

Hmm....wait a second...what song do I not see under Ian Hornbeck? Runaway...ah yes thats it. BRAD DID RUNAWAY. invention of its time or whatever thought Phoenix did the bass on Runaway. He didnt. It's called a correction. Thanks. :)

Please, calm down, guys. We can at least agree that "Runaway" has a great bassline without arguing, can't we?

Another good song is "Revolution" by P.O.D. The bassline in that song is wicked awesome.

Meh, Runaway really doesn't have that great of a bassline to me, it's more like regular LP. Simple. But it's his opinion, and I respect it.

I listened to the songs I thought had good basslines, but couldn't remember the names, here are all of them:

    Taproot - Believed (Awesome)
    Taproot - Can't Not (Awesome)
    Taproot - Hate Myself

    Crazy Town - Decorated
    Crazy Town - Battle Cry
Crazy Town - Candy Coat (Awesome)
    Crazy Town - Change (Awesome)

    Disturbed - Liberate
    Disturbed - Bound
    Disturbed - Want
    Disturbed - Numb

    Linkin Park - Forgotten

    Tool - Schism
    Tool - Aenima
    Tool - Parabola
    Tool - Third Eye (Awesome)
    Tool - Opiate

A Perfect Circle - Weak and Powerless

    Stone Sour - Bother
    Stone Sour - Inhale
    Stone Sour - Get Inside

Rancid - The Maxwell Murder (Awesome)

    Flaw - Whole
    Flaw - Payback

    Staind - Fade
    Staind - Safe Place(Awesome)

I just watched Runaway (LIT Edition) and...nope, no slapping. Do you even know what slapping is? It doesn't sound like he's slapping, he's using a pick.
