Almost any Linkin Park song except for the ones that feature mostly singing would be bad for Rock Band, in my opinion. I say this because, as much as some people may call me a fan boy for saying this: Not many people can scream as hard as Chester does for an entire chorus, nonetheless hold a scream on key for 18 seconds. Therefore I guess we know for sure that Given Up won't be on there if RB2 does indeed feature Linkin Park .
OSC in RB2 would make zero sense. I can see "What I've Done" or "Bleed It Out" as the most likely candidates. BIO is such a party song. It'd be perfect.
I dont blame you but both franchises have had hardware issues. When GHIII came out, the guitar that I got had a loose neck and halfway through every song, you wouldnt be able to use the blue fret then it was another fret. It got ridiculous. Also, Harmonix hasnt really let anything out yet but they hinted that they were working on doing the same thing but wanted to get it as perfect as possible (the create a song). As long as both games have solid track listings which it looks like they will, ill be getting both
Rock Band's defective hardware replacement service is top notch, though. Excellent service. I had an issue with my RB guitar being unable to connect to my USB port on my 360. Sent out a claim, got it in 3 weeks, and had no issues. My GHIII guitar's yellow button sometimes reacts when I hold down the green and red buttons at the same time.
Dream theater - Panic attack. ?!?! That's a Terrible song for Rock band, but I can see why some parts make it really challenging, It's a really.. Meh song? The drummer is going to be all over the place. A few other song's seems better imo, like Metroplis. Even a instrumental song would be nice
I have never bought an GH game of any kind, I only own Rock Ban but that's simply because my best friend has everything Guitar Hero, so I have no reason to buy it myself when I could just play his When he bought GHIII for PS2, the blue button on the wireless controller wasn't that great, either. Luckily we were able to use the guitar that came with GH2, so we just use that. I plan on getting GH:WT for PS3 though. It's about time I get off my ass and grab it. I'll probably buy Rock Band 2 as well, as long as I don't have to buy any new hardware and just the disc since I already own everything from the 1st installment. My drums have never broke and work fine, and the drums are more fun than the guitar any day. Now if I hear that no one has problems with the guitar for PS3 then I might pick that up and work both games, but for right now my head leans more towards Guitar Hero. I didn;t mean to shoot down Rock Band liek I did though. The game is great but it's really boring by yourself, and since they dropped the ball on the guitar I just couldn't really get around to it. They were supposed to come out with a patch where you would be able to use the GHIII controller, but I don't believe that ever came out. This is good though. The competition between Rock Band and Guitar Hero will make both series better. This is one thing that such series like Smackdown! vs. Raw, Madden, and NASCAR are hurting these days is because they have no competition, so they just release the same shit every year, which gets stale.
You can use the GH Guitars with Rock Band but you cant use the Rock Band guitar with GH. I use my Les Paul from GHIII all the time on Rock Band, because I find it easier. I agree with the competition thing. It really seems like both companies are trying their hardest to get the best possible song list on both games which will only benefit the people buying the game.
First 10 RB2 songs announced (via Gamespot, I believe): "Ace of Spades" by Motörhead "Everlong" by Foo Fighters "Pinball Wizard" by The Who "Panic Attack" by Dream Theater "Any Way You Want It" by Journey "Chop Suey" by System of a Down "Kids in America" by The Muffs "Give It Away" by Red Hot Chili Peppers "Hello There" by Cheap Trick "Pump It Up" by Elvis Costello Sick.
You can use the XBOX GHIII controller for Rock Band, but it doesn't work that way for PS3 as far as I know.
Coincidence that all those tracks are on the tracklists that were rumored earlier this week? This actually puts some more weight on the validity of the leaked lists.
