That commercial was dumb. The song was pretty annoying too after the first five seconds.

Bands who do commercials = 95% of the commercials/songs are stupid.

Oh dear God no. They took one of the greatest songs ever and turned it into passionless pop shit.
Errr, in my opinion of course.

I heard theirs first, then tried the original and could not stand Corgan's grating vocals.

Each to their own of course, but I thought it was way better than the original myself.

Okay, seriously fuck the Smashing Pumpkins tribute album with Panic! At the Disco and Hawthorne Heights, this is a band who are the originals. They lived through the Pearl Jam and Nivana times, in fact, were said to be the next Nirvana (Harlz - sorry for saying the N word too many times, I know your view on Nirvana). Tonight, Tonight was awful by Panic! At the Disco, Evanescence's Zero, was  and so was Hawthorne Height's Bullet with Butterfly Wings. Like many other bands, such as Placebo and Nirvana, the Pumpkins are defined by Billy Corgan's 'nasal' voice and the use of simple chords with no/little bass to it (come on it was D'arcy for fuck sakes). So what if Corgan's voice is nasal? Does that make Zwan instantly hated just because Corgan sings in it as well? Yes, it's been made clear that Zeitgeist was an awful album (in my own opinion) with two songs I can only stand listening to - Bleeding the Orchid and Tarantula < fuck them for putting Paris Hilton on the single cover, that was an insult to me. But think of the other albums. The Smashing Pumpkins got in Top 100 memorable albums of all time, twice, with Siamese Dream and Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness. This band is a lot like other bands as well, in a perspective, they've done the best they could do, and for that I give them kudos to. Come on, you've gotta admit that songs like Rocket, Siva, Zero and 1979 are pretty awesome songs.

I like so nasally voices, I love Placebo. But I can't stand Corgan.

I think Panic! did a great cover and no amount of ranting will change my mind.

Have you heard the songs that he doesn't sing in? Like Farewell and Goodnight and Take Me Down?

    True, but still.

1979 is still my favorite Pumpkins song. I can only stand SOME songs, some are just too meh for me.

Because Zwan is underrated and Paz (an old member from A Perfect Circle) left first, and everybody else left, leaving Billy Corgan on his solo career.
I think they're not overrated because they didn't get as much recognition as Nirvana or Pearl Jam did back in the 90s.
