Well yeah, it's almost inevitable.. And even though I support Chester and want him to do well on everything he does, I wonder whether it's worth the trouble. Of course, I can't jump ahead on conclusion and say it'll get ugly right away, they might even get into an agreement, but given how broken is the relationship between Weiland and the rest, I don't see it being a joyful ride.
Eh just come up with a new name boys, and if the music is good, you'll be just as successful. It's not like the STP name sells out arenas now anyway, as much as I love the band.
There is a little thing called Profesional Ethic, From both parts of course. If he is or was one of the original founders (i dontk know) then the other guys (STP members) could have warned him. And i agree with this singer guy (dont know his name),A band is each one of its member as whole. (dont speaking legally) not individually. Of course this new band is not the original Stone Temple Pilots. And chester knew that this could happen, i think if i were chester, i would be more worried about my friendship with this guy than the legal aspects.
Glad we established that early before some wolf links this forum with incorrectness. On topic though, Weiland sounds like a booty tight little kid who didn't get to play with the cool kids in the sandbox.
If one day Linkin Park called me up and asked me to sing a song with them because Chester was no longer a member, and Chester later revealed he was disappointed with that, it would absolutely kill my spirit to continue. He's got to tread carefully here, especially because Chester has looked up to Scott for a long time.
Worst thing that can happen to him is having his Idol as an enemy. I'm pretty sure he will know how to deal with that without turning it into a feud. Chester doesn't need the drama nor asked for it, so I hope the guys at STP work something out.
Chester is a great guy I'm sure he won't let it get to him. He knows how to handle it. That being said, if I was kicked out of a band that I formed and fronted for 20 years (I'm not sure how long it was) and then they try to erase me from the band's memory and make it illegal to refer to myself as a previous member I would be pretty pissed.
It also really makes you appreciate how fortunate Linkin Park is for never having to go through internal drama like this. So many bands do nowadays. Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, Disturbed, and the list goes on. I'm glad we never have to read headlines like this for LP.
I have come up with a theory. Maybe STP would have warned Scott that they are rebooting with Chester and all that and MAYBE he would have let it passed through. And now after STP has done a show and released a song, he has stepped in to make things complicated. Maybe this all is his plan?
STP fans now gonna hate LP fans, why do I get a sense there will be a war between the two fan base, hell there is already a war going on youtube.
