That's because if you're a Satanist, people automatically assume you're an evil rapist/murderer who needs to burn in the fiery depths of hell, hence any form of ridicule or persecution is justifiable. Interesting thought because some guys from The Satanic Alliance (online Satanic community) told me Satanism has nothing to do with being evil or sacrificing virgins or, for that matter, worshipping the Devil.

    Who knows.
the kind of satanist I am doesn't believe in god or satan.

they believe that you yourself are your own god.

    confusing, I know.

Thanks to Odaton constantly banging on about Dream Theater, Symphony X and Opeth, I now have their albums.

Like I said, I've only heard of Deicide but I don't listen to them regularly. :D
I'm glad that SOMEONE listened too me

And Casey...About Emperor or whoever: Okay, so Christians complain about them being devil-worshippers because its against their religion, and then they BURN CHURCHES! Who is in the wrong here?

Reads some of his other posts:
Chill man, you starting to come across as the know-at-all/bratty type.

I get antsy when these types of topics spring up.

You know, saying that most death metal bands just try to have that "oooh, look I'm a devil worshipper" image, when most ARE devil-worshippers.

Yeah. Know it all my ass. It's called an opinion & backing up that opinion. Yeah, maybe I'm backing it up alittle to much, but I have to.

Slipknot are nu metal, just ask someone who is REALLY into death-black metal, or, yet better, buy a Metal Hammer :p

And yes, most satanist death metal are just posers. Although real death-metal bands are really few, about 90% of the bands mentioned here are either metal or prog

Yeah, I guess the point does get across then
Just relax though, people are just voicing their opinion, not insulting you!

Well, not quite the same here. I don't mind death metal, but can't listen to it all the time.

    Slipknot is not nu-metal.

My friend John and his group of friends all listen to death metal and heavy metal and Slipknot is one of them. They don't consider Slipknot nu-metal in the slightest. The only kind of music they listen to is death and heavy metal. They wouldn't listen to Slipknot if they were nu-metal.

Now Stone Sour on the other hand are nu-metal in a way.
