Rolling Stone Q&A: Chester Bennington

People are reading way too much into this Mike less rapping thing.

He'll still rap and on more than 2 songs.
But what they're saying is there'll be more stuff along the lines of Easier to run type vocals where they both sing, its just saying those two songs are where he agressively rap rocks like Faint or so on.

And him not singing on the first single is no big deal, I mean there's always been songs where he didn't sing and they where made into singles too. One Step Closer, Breaking the Habit?

I'm guessing Valantines Day is a working title though, probably something to do with something to do with the song happened on Valantine's Day like they came up with the beat for it or something, I cant see the lyrics being related to Valantine's day personally

 

Mike sang on One Step Closer, just along with Chester. The only song Mike didn't sing on so far has been Breaking The Habit, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

 

The only time Mike sings on OSC I believe is live, whenever it's physically impossible for Chester to sing all the parts at once. Same with Crawling.

Mike rarely has singing roles on studio albums.

 

I always thought Mike sang, "Because I'm one step closer to the edge, and I'm about to break" along with Chester, maybe I think that from watching the music video. But Mike actually has a few lines in Crawling on the studio version.

 

What I'm dying for is to hear a song in the new album similar to "papercut" or "hit the floor"
