love almost every song they've made except some on their first 2 albums. The bridge on Dancing For Rain from about 2mins is one of my favourite parts of all there songs. The two new ones from the new album and all the preveiws i've heard would suggest the new album mean it should be epic. AND I MEAN EPIC
I sure wish this guy wasn't banned, I was grooving on how he thinks not booting the gays from the military is the same thing as concentration camps. And not knowing what the PATRIOT Act was. That's pretty cool too.
i wish they were doing more tour dates in the UK. i love them and want to see them so badly but the UK show sold out in 20mins
If anyone wants to listen to the previews of the new album, have a looky http://artists.universal-music.de/uid/_webwheel/riseagainst/
I know I shouldn't say something like this, least of all of someone who's banned and can't defend himself, but he doesn't seem smart. At all. He talks like someone who has no real knowledge of the issues and just presses Glenn Beck's rant of the day in order to feel political and involved. That said, I used to love Rise Against. As someone else here noted, the latest album turned me off somewhat, but I listened to them a good year before that during a time when I was really against Linkin Park's new sound, and I always sorta regarded them as my "new" Linkin Park for that reason. I was kinda put off by their support for PETA though; I'm all for the vegetarianism thing but those guys take it a little bit too far...
listened to the leak yesterday. Its amazing. i can see these guys starting to get bigger and bigger with this album out now
I think they're pretty good, but for some reason I borderline hate their music. I don't know if it's because their lead singer can't quite scream, and also can't quite sing melodically, or if it's because a lot of their songs sound the same.
New album is like a slightly less good Appeal to Reason. I like it, but not as much as their other stuff.
I'd agree with he above post. Rise Against have sounded very same-y on their last 2 albums and unless you're a fan of that sound, you won't like the album because all the songs sound too alike. There are still some standouts, but I miss the RA from The Sufferer and the Witness.
That seems about right based on what I have heard. I liked Appeal To Reason but I'm not in a hurry to listen to all of this one.
As big of a fan as I am of Rise Against, after hearing the first single of the album, I'm not real keen on listening to the album right away myself.
