Reminder: "New Divide" Premieres Today

As far as I'm aware, Hans Zimmer had no involvement in the creation of the song itself, just the way it's used in the movie. I was under the impression that LP and Hans didn't even meet/start working together until after the song was already done and they had started working on the film score.

 

Not sure if anyone else did it yet but I wrote down the lyrics:

Why is it when I click to get the song off itunes it states the single will be in store on the 31st May?

 

Itunes is releasing it on different dates in various countries. Its lame

 

I was late to work today just so I could listen to the premiere lol but it was worth it and now I can finally buy it. I'm liking the direction they're taking, hopefully this sound sticks to the next album or some semblance of it.

Now I can't wait to hear the score....oh boy another month of waiting. But I liked Steve Jablonsky's score so hopefully it surpasses the first one.

It's really poppy rock. I really miss the old days of Linkin Park when they actually kicked ass and screamed a little bit in their music.

Yes, Chester's a great vocalist, this has some amazing vocals, but the music needs to be more interesting on the album and he needs to scream again, and they need to bring Mike back in in a more efficient way.

This is not the Linkin Park we all knew back in 2000. Not that they can't evolve their sound, but this sounds like a copy of another musical act, not anything original.

 

i definitely like it. i think the breakdown in the middle of the song isn't something to expect on a lot of future tracks though. it seems like that part is basically in their to fit in with transformers because it sounds robotic and such. overall though, structurally very similar to wid...especially when the noise cuts out and its just chester singing. lets hope mike gets some good verses in on the next album!

 

Absolutely more than what I had expected. This is how much of an impact MTM should've presented.

 

MTM was an impact to me though, and not in a bad way. New Divide has the essence of their old style, but also the display of awesome vocals like in MTM, so I think we should all prepare for a mind-blowing album next.

 

So I have to wait another 12 days for this to be released on Itunes? That sucks!

Urgh, I wish there was some other way to get it on my Ipod right now.
