It's weird seeing an AP.net thread with nearly unanimous praise for them haha.

 

I just woke up and I see this! Our first single is going to be a hit!

Now we just need to name the band and write a few more demos.

I still think Waiting For The End lacks punch when played live. They need more tweaking with that one. When They Come For Me, on the other hand, blew me away! Goddamn they nailed it! Chester and Brad playing the drums looked amazing... they were so in-synch!

I agree it doesn't do the song justice, When They Come For Me though is awesome, I loved it when I saw it in London I was mezmorized! Great performance!

What's with all the WFTE hate? I thought it sounded perfectly fine. My parents both really liked it actually. Now my Dad's wishing he could see them live

 

It just doesn't feel as energetic and doesn't capture what it sounds like on the album. Thats great that mum and dads are getting into LP. I made my mum listen to ATS and she loves it, her fav tracks are Blackout and Wretches and Kings, haha I thought that would be her least favourites

 

Not energetic? There was plenty of energy. In fact, I've never seen Chester sing as passionately in this song before. Especially at the end. And Mike at the beginning was pretty pumped up. I suppose the rapping could use a little work but overall it was an amazing performance. I think we all know the song so well that we expect it to sound exactly how it sounds in the studio.

To me Chester sounded like he'd miss a note any second. And if you listen very carefully he did sound off in one or two places. I understand though, it's a tough song to pull off live because it goes from high energy to calm peacefulness very fast. That's hard to tackle. As for Mike's rapping, it sounds quite empty compared to the studio version, thus losing punch. Maybe Joe could do some backing vocals to give it that extra kick.

 

I want a .gif of that moving LP SNL card right before they perform. That was epic.

 

Chester didn't sound that great, even if it wasn't him at his worst either, and singing "Oooooohh" instead of "Aaaaaaaahh" in When They Come For Me made him sound flat and off, even though it wasn't actually a bad performance as such. Plus him hamming it up and the visual effects, ugh. I didn't like this a great deal as you can probably tell.

 

Thought both performances were mindblowing!

Linkin Park are doing so great, I'm so happy for them. They seem to be having a great time. They're really pushing it. I loved it! More, please!
