Yeah, and he also added "this is ten percent luck" as I said.
    Great job LinkinPark063087 ;)

I thought that it was actually Cheapshot, but after listening that part for a caouple of more times I agree with you now. It's definitely machine shop as you said

    EDIT: Reply No 100

check out previous posts before you do next time..
those lyrics have already been fixed ^_^

    EDIT: typo [/b][/quote]
I see it now, dunno how I missed that. Mine aren't much different, just little things, but Derek was the bulk of it all for providing an original to work off of.

And Dedicated, damn your avatar is the shit! (w00t)

    Sick.

but i have to admit, i kind of expected the lyrics to be.......i dunno, maybe more meaningful? I'm not sure if that is the word i'm looking for, but to me, they just seem kind of generic. haha i don't like them talking in the third person either. but i really did enjoy this song. Deff. one of my favorite rap songs. and i really like the beat.

    overall:

    Likewise.

But it's a single. The singles are often the most meaningless songs on a hip-hop album. Something to dance and vibe to. And this song has a sick beat. It's fire!

So, uh, "Dedicated" was done by the entire band...

The song is all right. It's nothing to get me excited over. Mike's verses aren't that great and his flow is off. If you ask me, he needs to get over himself. "Standing in the Middle" had lyrics that followed the same exact theme.

And, since everyone else seems to want their input here, I'm going to throw mine in the mix as well.

    (Spoken)
    You ready?
    Let’s go
    Yeah
For those of you that wanna know who we’re all about
    It’s like this, y’all
    C’mon

    (Chorus)
    This is ten percent luck
    Twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
    Five percent pleasure
    Fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name

    (Mike)
Mike, he doesn’t need his name up in lights
He just wants to be heard whether it’s the beat or the mic
He feels so unlike everybody else – alone
In spite of the fact that some people still think that they know him
But fuck ‘em, he knows the code
It’s not about the salary, it’s all about reality
And making some noise, making a story
Making sure his clique stays up
That means when he puts it down, Tak’s picking it up
    Let’s go

    (Tak)
Who the hell is he anyway? He never really talks much
Never concerned with status but still leaving them star-struck
Humbled through opportunities given despite the fact
That many misjudge him because he makes a living from writing raps
Put it together himself and now the picture connects
Never asking for someone’s help and get some respect
He’s only focused on what he wrote – his will is beyond reach
And now when it all unfolds, the skill of an artiste

    (Ryu)
This is twenty percent skill, eighty percent fear
Be a hundred percent clear ‘cause Ryu is ill
Who would’ve thought that he’d be the one to set the west in flames?
And I heard that record with the Crystal Method, “Name of the Game”
Came back, dropped Megadef, took him to church
I’m like bleach, man – why do you have the stupidest verse?
This dude is the truth, now everybody’s giving him guest spots
His stock’s through the roof, I heard he fucking with S-dot

    (Chorus)
    This is ten percent luck
    Twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
    Five percent pleasure
    Fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name

    (Ryu)
They call him Ryu the Sick and he’s spitting fire with Mike
Got him out the dryer, he’s hot – found him in Fort Minor with Tak
    Been a fucking nihilist porcupine, he’s a prick, he’s a cock
The type women want to be with and rappers hope he gets shot
Eight years in the making patiently waiting to blow
Now the record with Shinoda’s taking over the globe
He’s got a partner in crime, his shit is equally dope
You won’t believe the kind of shit that comes out of this kid’s throat

    (Tak)
Tak, he’s not your every day on the block
He knows how to work with what he’s got
Making his way to the top
People think it’s a common owners name
People keep asking him, “Was it given at birth?
Or does it stand for an acronym?”
No, he’s living proof, got him rocking the booth
He’ll get you buzzing quicker than a shot of vodka with juice
Him and his crew are known around as one of the best
Dedicated to what they doing, give a hundred percent

    (Mike)
Forget Mike, nobody really knows how or why he works so hard
It seems like he’s never got time
Because he writes every note and he writes every line
And I’ve seen him at work when that light goes on in his mind
It’s like a design is written in his head every time
Before he even touches a key or speaks in a rhyme
And those mother fuckers he runs with, the kids that he signed
Ridiculous, without even trying, how do they do it?

    (Chorus)
    This is ten percent luck
    Twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
    Five percent pleasure
    Fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name

    (Chorus)
    This is ten percent luck
    Twenty percent skill
Fifteen percent concentrated power of will
    Five percent pleasure
    Fifty percent pain
And a hundred percent reason to remember the name

    (Spoken)
    Yeah
    Fort Minor
    M. Shinoda
    Styles of Beyond
    Ryu
    Takbir
    Machine Shop

Even though you have a bias against LP cause you now hate them, I gotta agree...

I hope this whole record isn't "pity me, cause LP/My Label makes me work so hard and I dont get appreciated."

I'd rather have It's Going Down style lyrics then...this crap.

It's not really that, it's more like not being known in the hip-hop community and this is his introduction. Kinda egotistical, but I still like it. Though it's not up to Mike's caliber, it's better than most of the stuff out there.

The lyrics aren't complex but come on people the beat is banging , I am certain that track like right now , back home , where'd you go , contain more complex lyrics , but this is the firts single it has to be catchy so people remeber it and mike suceesed in that ,,, and his new verse from the medley are mad dope

yeah, that is very true. i love the beat on this thing. and something called "Remember the Name" should be a very good first single. i mean, look waht "My Name Is" did to Eminem. I'm sure the rest of the album will be a little more meaningful......hopefully at least.

I think it's some kind of generic (hope it is the first song o the album). 'Coz like you said they speak in 3rd person. Otherwise it sounds amazing. I wonder how other songs will be. I knew that mike making some hip & hop (or rap) stuff on his own (some songs with linkin park like dedicated, step up, nobody's listening etc.) and they were good. But this seems Fort Minor will rock the rap world :)
