Glamour of the Kill's version of 2 Minutes to Midnight is a lot better than I thought it was going to be. Still listening right now, already checked out the Coheed and Metallica tracks. Not so sure about The Trooper, nice to have a full version of it, and I'm glad they still let Travis sing the second verse like he does live, but the production on it isn't what I was envisioning. The vocals sound kind of blah. Metallica's version of Remember Tomorrow is excellent. *Edit* Hmm, I wouldn't say Sign RUINED Run to the Hills, but their take on it is really about as different as possible. It's at the very least interesting to listen to.
The thing with the Sign track is that they seem to have tried to do something completely different for each part of the song, without it really working out that well. I think they should have done the whole cover similarly to how they did the intro.
I think it's one of the better ones, definitely. For me the best are Gallows, Metallica, and Fightstar. Then probably DT or Year Long Disaster.
The actual physical copy comes with the magazine, that is until people start putting it on eBay and such.
I mean, I like how Sign tried doing something different, but "Run to the Hills" isn't really a song you should do something different with. It's just... yeah.
