*Hugs* I'm sorry to hear that hun =\.

And people can hate on Evanescence all they want but as far as I'm convinced, after that stellar performance last night...they're better than any other act out there in the mainstream right now. I personally recommend for their detractors to see them live so that they can hear how great they sound and then proceed to (you guessed it): stfu!

Basically you hear these overproduced bands that sound shit when they perform live..then you get to Evanescence and have a lead singer who's so powerful that we could hear her voice from far away outside during the soundcheck. Being the distance I was during the concert (basically almost front row), I was given goosebumps and at one time almost moved to tears. For someone to sound that much like on record, especially since CDs have shitloads of post processing, is amazing. There's just nobody out there with a voice like her right now. I hate to say it but...even Linkin Park's live set isnt as tight as Evanescence's. For my dad to say Ev was one of the best shows he's seen in years, when he got to see Pink Floyd in the 70's is just incredible. That right there should give you an idea.

My cell phone sucks but I should have digital pics from my same section soon since people snuck some in. Also, a full review will be posted shortly.

I'm glad you had a good time, Derek.

I sort of wish I was there. Work ruins everything for me lately so for that I couldn't go. I do like Evanescence, but they just don't "do it" for me anymore. I'm sure if I saw them live I probably would think differently. As for better than Linkin Park....you gotta actually see them live to say that. Just wait till next year! :)

Edit: Thanks for the call during "Going Under". It's my favorite song of theirs.

Not a problem. The crowd energy was so good I had to call you on that song.

And trust me..this concert would've done it for you. Amy had just learned that night that their album is #1 (since the charts come in on Tuesdays) so she was on Cloud Nine that night (no pun intended) and really just..perfect.

Also, Philly was rocking out even during the soft songs so she said "YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY!" she says they keep coming back to the Electric Factory (4th time there) cause they love the energy.

They need to perform at the Wachovia Center. I don't think they have. I could be wrong though. If they were at the Wachovia Center, I probably could have gone. I would not have had to leave work early or worry about finding it since my family knows where it is. Since it was at the Electric Factory, I would have had to leave work early to try and find the place and get a decent place in line. By the way, was it hard to find the EF? Any troubles? The way my brother made it seem was that it was a dreadful place to be at in terms of standing outside and waiting to get in. I bet he was lying lol.

My DSL is crapping up a lot again lately. Something tells me that electric thing is the cause behind it. I thought they were supposed to give us a new electric pole. Fuckers.

*EDIT* Andrea, there were a few homeless people dancing for cash and a 'hustler' looking for tickets. But I never once feared for my life. And EF has plenty of air conditioning vents so I never got overheated.

Bad area of Philly? Maybe. Bad experience? No. The security would've stopped anything.

And nope, the EF was very easy to find.
