The moment when you're friend bitches about how you can't say Merry Christmas anymore  Why would I assume someone celebrates a certain holiday or religion? Costumers talk to me about church and Jesus all the time, in a way that presumes that I follow the same religion and it infuriates me. Why would I do that to someone else?

^It's more of a polite thing to do. I remember when, once, a friend of mine, a Muslim, called me on the phone. He probably wanted to hang out or something, but the first thing he said to me is "Happy Bajram", and I was like, "Err... I don't celebrate that, you know?" And he said something like: "It doesn't matter, we can still wish each other a happy one." And so I agreed and said "Happy Bajram" too.

In short, you don't have to be celebrating a holiday to wish someone a good one. Doing that is kind and respectful, and it doesn't hurt you in any way. :bradwink: #posivibes

I suppose, but it's just as easy to say happy holidays. No less polite.

What do you do when you're with someone and see the finish line? It's been a good run, you feel good about it, but life has put a finish line that is much closer than you expected before you and it's approaching fast.

Simultaneously, I'm already marking the next marathon and hoping I'll be able to enter.

I feel like a bad person for it all but at least I should/can take solace in my own honesty about it all. Now how to deal with it...

Hey man, sometimes relationships end. Doesn't mean it failed, it's just time for it to be done. That's ok, no reason to feel bad about it, no matter the reason or whatever feelings has come up with other people. I mean, cheating would be a dick move, but I'm assuming that hasn't happened. Breakups don't have to be a soul crushing thing that needs recovering from. If you feel ready to move on immediately, go for it.

All this relationship talk makes me nervous about getting into one. I'm in college and I've never had a relationship with a significant other in my whole life (I'm not in a rush to get into one tbh). I've had crushes before, but most of them are bitchy/arrogant/egoistic or doesn't share my interests, so I never pursued them. It just makes me anxious about having to handle both work and lovelife sometime in the future because I do want to settle down with someone eventually.

Yeah, I look at it that way. I'm incredibly blunt about everything just because my philosophy is that people get over hurt feelings but at the end of the day, the truth is the highest priority. Good talk ;)

If you want one just to have one, you're doing it for the wrong reasons :)

Yeah...that doesn't go away unless your girlfriend is the kind of girl you can keep crushing on over and over, but I'm pretty sure that can only happen if your girlfriend is Chrissy Costanza or Emma Stone.

How does one master self-control? By just changing your mindset? How does that work :/

You're bigger than your impulses. It's not that hard as long as you determinedly tell yourself "NO", and fail to lose that attitude.
