I don't see Pidg going into the same level of insult but asking for respect. Only people deserving to be called "things" are those monsters who kill people for pleasure and paedophiles.

I have seen samples of intolerance going either way in different places, but Pidgey's reaction isn't one of them.

 

What Filip said wasn't a view point. It was an insult, one clearly driven by ignorance. It's not other view point I'm intolerant of, it's ignorance I'm intolerant of.

 

I never said anything about you. Nor did I even think about you when I posted that. But I'll apologize to you, although my opinion remains. As backwards ass as it is. I could start agreeing with all of you now, but that'd be a lie. So,

If someone has an opinion about a sensitive subject like transsexuality that might be offensive to some people they should just keep it to themselves.

 

Opinions shouldn't be withheld, because that would just be lack of freedom of speech. Opinions shouldn't be ignorant or misled by lack of education, either, though.

Teared my heart apart seeing my mother yesterday grabbing water FROM THE RAIN because we don't have any left at home. Matrix pipe broke and we are going to be without water service for quite a few days. Not that water had enough pressure to come out from our faucets anyway.

Extremely saddening. And I keep repeating myself, this is a leading oil exporting country. We are in our lowest. I am to the point I wish oil prices will crumble or USA stops buying us so the people we have for government would fuck off forever. What a curse.

I never once mentioned homosexuality though, nor do I have anything against homosexual people. And saying you don't want to live on this planet because of something is called hyperbole, and to some extent internet slang.

 

As far as i can tell, i do not want to start a fight here but calling someone "it" is seperating her to something unknown, which is really offensive. At it would be offensive to me if i would be homosexual

 

Could we drop this, please?

The last time i was at the airport and waited for my flight back to germany, someone got a phonecall in front of me, and he had Faint as a ringtone.

Ok, since apparently everyone, despite this being a touchy subject, won't leave it alone and move on, I'll drop my two cents:

Opinions are just that: opinions. In terms of opinion, there is no difference between calling out a larger person for being "fat" or a transexual for being an "it" - it is an opinion, and it doesn't matter which side of the fence you're on, because your opinion won't sway.

Pidgeon trying to convince Filip of his perspective is no different than the other way around, the key difference being Filip's statement was exclusive to his individual opinion, versus everyone else telling Filip what is "right" and "wrong" in today's society.

Some people prefer the "pre-modern" mindsets and some have come to accept "modern" mindsets - just as one can't accept the "modern" acceptance of all sexual identities, those that do shouldn't force feed those that don't. He's not a dick for his opinion - it's his belief. Nor is anyone a dick for their acceptance - it's their belief.

Offensive? Yes. A physical attack where he attempted to kidnap Conchita and use electrotherapy to get her to accept to his, as Derek put it, "antiquated" norms? No, no he did not do that.
