It's ridiculous in what a situation not doing anything for school last Saturday put me in

 

I don't even know why I tried...

 

Tell me about it. I hate the snow and I hate winter. My summer is slowly fading away, we've had 9 snow days so far.

 

Pretty bummed today.

I was very optimistic about my chances of landing a post-graduate scholarship in Russia this year, but yesterday I got a phonecall from the scholarship committee saying I still had to authenticate/legalize my title and present it to the Exterior Relations Ministry, in a timeframe I am unfortunately unable to pull off as I find out today.

I thought the authenticating process in my Uni would be easier but it turns out it takes a staggering 25 business days, which can be reduced to 8 IF I traveled to the main HQ of the University which is in a city 6 hours away from here in car. Apart from traveling there twice to drop and pick up my title, that I would have to go to Ministry of Superior Education in Caracas (~10h travel) to legalize my title, and THEN after that I can present it to the ERM, but that can ONLY to be on a tuesday. Hence I cannot possibly pull that off in 3 weeks, knowing that I also have to work.

Did you understand that? If not, don't worry, it took me a long fucking while to figure that out myself. Now I know that here, after graduating, you have to Register (locally), Authenticate (in Uni), Legalize (in country Capital) AND put an Apostille on it for it to be valid in another country (< this one I knew).

I have to say I did cry for a while because I tried hard and spent money to put together the requirements in just 4 days, and also I thought it was a great opportunity to visit a country I've wanted to go for a long time, while I get a specialization degree. But I've accepted the fact that maybe it wasn't the right time, not just yet. Hopefully another opportunity will come up next year.

I'm babysitting my 4 yrs. old nephew Dirk and we just made paper airplane earlier. I can take all these activities just not all these endless weird questions he has. I swear, I don't know how he's able to formulate all these questions and it seems he's not satisfied with most of my answers. If he's not going to stop this Q&A portion, please just shoot me now.

 

Since our school treated our teachers to a Singapore training trip, WE HAVE ONE FREAKING WEEK OF NO CLASSES!!!! WOOOOOO!!!!
