All I really want out of life right now is a guy who likes me for who I am, can make me laugh, isn't a complete dick, and can hold a conversation without using the words "bro", "man" or "dude".

Haha, 75% of the guys I go to school with talk just like that.

"Dude, I was fuckin', like, drivin' an' shit, bro, and, fuckin', she was, like, 'Oh you never take me out!' or whatever, fuckin'. . . ."

 

I say "man" a bit. Very, very ccasionally I say "dude" as well for some reason haha. It's not the words though, it's the intent.

Also, what if I played Super Mario Bros with a man at a dude ranch and I wanted to talk about it?

 

I say "man" and "dude" a lot, too. They're only irritating words when you punctuate every thought with them.

 

It makes me feel good knowing I'm in the minority. I don't hang with those kind of guys. When I'm talking to girls I never talk like that haha.

 

I only say those words when appropriate. I'm not overly dependent on them or anything, but they do show up in my natural speech.

Especially 'dude.' As I barely lived in California yet got more of a Cali accent than a Texan one.

 

So, more "totally, dude," less "you gotta purrty mouth"?

 

Accent, dude. Not vocabulary.

Meaning I'm more like "Timothy. Dude, shut the fuck up" rather than "Timothee, shawt the fuuck up gawdamnit"

 

Because "purrty" doesn't imply accent?

I don't know a lot about Texan accents, though.

 

It isn't as prevalent as you may think. The midwest has a more 'southern' accent than Texas does. .. ya'll.

 

I think I lost a few IQ points at work today . . .
