Alright, I know I already posted about this before, but I want to gloat some more, plus I'm bored. So I'm going to do a mini review of last night.

Atreyu - Great opening band. Alex had awesome stage presence and connected with the audience really well. I'm impressed. Only thing that stops me giving them a perfect score is the fact they only played two older songs. But they did play Lip Gloss and Black, which was awesome. 4/5

Bullet for My Valentine - Well...they were good, but to be honest I kinda expected more. Matt just didn't have the banter with the audience that Alex Atreyu did. Plus I was a little disappointed at their song choice. Still good....but yeah. 3/5

Avenged Sevenfold - Fucking amazing. Let's put it that way. Afterlife was awesome live, and there was a nice selection of songs from City of Evil and the self-titled. The last two songs were absolutely amazing though. Because of the curfew, their set was going to be cut short, so Matt gave the audience some choices for the last two. Unholy Confessions was a given. For the other song, he gave us Almost Easy, A Little Piece of Heaven and Seize the Day. That was until a random guy yelled out "Second Heartbeat!", starting a massive chant. And they fucking LISTENED. Amazing. Needless to say, as a closer, Confessions made the place absolutely go off. The first few seconds of that opening riff was honestly one of the best moments of my life so far. 5/5

Okay, that was the most horrible thing I've had to see.

150 11-12 year olds crying. It's horrible.

As to why, someone in their year hung himself over the weekend. How sick is that? Someone bullied so much they hang themselves at 11, where's the fucking justice there?

*sigh*

EDIT: If I'm honest though, at that age I was bullied to the point that I thought about giving it up. Its a crime that Bullying isn't dealt with more severely.

Condolences to the kids family and friends. It's the worst thing in the world knowing that this kid was tormented more than he could take. I hope whoever bullied him gets expelled and is disciplined to the full extent. Simply terrible.

I don't know much about it, other than the kid hung himself, but from what we overheard the kids saying, he was bullied.

It's fucking twisted, I don't really know what to say though. Like, when people are mates they take the mick out of each other, but is that bullying?

I dont know...*sigh*

 

There's a difference between taking the mick and bullying though. Depending on how emotionally fragile someone is, taking the mick shouldn't really be considered that serious. Constant namecalling, picking on, getting into physical confrontation and going out of your way to make someone else's life unpleasant constitutes as bullying.

Unfortunately there's an insane number of kids who's childhood is ruined because of it which is something I find to be criminal. Every kid has the right to enjoy their childhood. Hell, up until age 18 you should just be enjoying yourself which is why I put so much emphasis on my upcoming 18th birthday because I'm seeing that slowly there's more responsability and less time for friends etc.

Aaaah someone decent needs to announce a tour in Australia. No one is coming, and none of the decent aussie acts seems to be touring. Except Powderfinger, but they're sold out...
