How about almost 5 years for me.

 

Well I like to think that eventually everyone gets a reward for thier hardships.

I'll be really pissed if there's no heaven though...we're on this hell-hole of a planet for 77 years and don't get a reward? Fuck that.

 

What happened to the hour nap I was going to take? Fuck. Now I can't do anything I wanted.

 

Hopefully.

Well he's stating fact. Muslims believe that if you become a martyr, you are rewarded in Heaven with 72 virgins.

Some Muslims just happen to think that self-detonation equals martyrdom.

 

More like have been brainwashed into thinking that self-detonation equals martyrdom.

I dont know Derek but thats just a fact. If a Christian blows himself up he gets nothing. If a Muslim blows himself up he gets 72 virgins.

Misinformed? About 30% of the Netherlands is Muslim and I'm friends with some of them. I believe I am a little more informed and I know that not all Muslim people are terrorist.

 

If anyone was offended by my saying it was fact about the martyrdom, I'm going from what I was taught in my several history courses pre and post 9/11. From what I was taught, martyrdom in any form was considered rewardable by Allah for fighting for Islam, and they were thus rewarded upon their entrance into Heaven with some number of virgins, the most commonly referenced number being 72.

I even said that only some view self-detonation is considered martyrdom. I view martyrdom personally more as a personal struggle, considering that the word jihad actually means "struggle", or some variant, and not "holy war" like everyone abuses it.

I'm just stating what facts I know. And if I offended anyone by partaking in the conversation, I apologize.

 

In no way did I imply that was the view of all Muslims. I actually fight to keep narrow-minded beliefs, such as the aformentioned idea that all Muslims believe in self-detonation, banned. I hate ignorance and I hate this ever growing ignorance in society that's developing.

The point I was making is that in countries such as Saudi Arabia and even in countries such as the UK and the US, there are many people of the Muslim faith that are trying to brainwash their fellow Muslim people into believing that self-detonation is the correct path.

 

Derek, it is a fact though. If you're a Muslim, and you choose to become a martyr (choose being the operative word), you get 72 virgins in Heaven. I'm not saying all Muslims think that way, but Muslims who are martyrs do indeed believe that.
