I'm thinking an Ibanez or a Gibson SG. Maybe a custom ESP. Depends on what I can afford.

I hold it like a pencil, I have the most grip. But also back then I couldnt "Strum" But watch My Violence cover, which is full of strumming and I still hold it like that.

Personally I have the most control and comfort that way, and i can switch to a different position when i do Pinch harmonics, but I rarely need to.

I wasn't saying it was wrong or anything. I'm just saying I've never seen anyone hold a pick like that.

My dad's constantly telling me I play the guitar the wrong way, yadda yadda, so he's not buying me anything but a cheap copy, and at that, a Strat. At least until I "learn to play right."

Ohh dude that sucks. My dad always gets at me for stuff also. So mostly I don't tell him what I play and how I do it. Cause he plays a Classical Acoustic and he REFUSES to play anything unless its in Standard tuning. I'm like

"Dad i'm getting these strings cause they work good for Tuning down a step and Drop C"

He's like "You dont need to worry about all those other stupid tunings, just worry about the normal way"

    Pfft...no Fun

I hate Drop C. It's the most annoying tuning in the world. I find it so much easier to go between Drop D and Standard.

I can always compensate for Drop C songs, though.

I think we should have a guitar-playing contest.

And Tasta isn't allowed to participate.

My dad thinks that he can tell me how to play because he can play bass passably. He was in a band in the 80s that went nowhere, so he thinks he's a musical genius. But, I just go out of earshot and do what I want to. Which is mainly Drop D. Which, on the acoustic we have, sounds amazing. I just keep forgetting to retune it to standard when I'm done. Which isn't a probalem now, cause the bridge is broken

OOO My dad got a Nice ass Washburn acoustic..which He gave to me basically once he got his Classical one. I have thick strings on it, so its in Drop C now. Good for 3rd Measurement in C by Saosin
