The best kind of girl is the kind who likes the same music as you.

I've dated two girls who hated most of the music I like and we'd always argue about it.

 

I just hope this isn't one of those times where we're TOO similar, even if we're only friends lol.

But As I Lay Dying, I Killed The Prom Queen, Parkway Drive AND The Devil Wears Prada? Dude, this girl fucking rocks.

I'm officially protesting the abomination that is the new American Gladiators, thank you.

 

And now we wait for Alpha Dog to download...

 

Dear NBC,

You got me. You fucking got me. You fucking got everybody on the planet I believe. For months upon months we all were so pumped that you decided to bring back American Gladiators. I heard about it and was so thrilled that they did. They just started then showing reruns on TV of the classic episodes until they pulled the plug on the network that carried it, so I was even more thrilled. Then I saw the first commerical on Thanksgiving and that pumped me up even more. Then I found out that Hulk Hogan and Layla Ali were hosting...ok, not as much pumped but still pumped. The day finally arrived tonight when the show got it's revival.

And then the train wreck happened.

First off, the obvious out of the way and you'll understand more if you watched it. Yeah, this ain't the old school American Gladiators...I knew that from the start, but at least the best what they should've done, is at least kept it simple, stupid. And that's where the first problem lied. It wasn't like that. Of course, it was in the hands of NBC, where if you've seen their past "reality game shows", like Fear Factor and Dog Eat Dog, then you'll fit right at home here. It's like they pizzazed on it WAY TOO MUCH. Camera angles where not needed, pyro and fire at every god damn turn, and the crowd reactions...did the classic one have the crowd going "Na Na Na, HEY HEY HEY....GOODBYE!" when someone got eliminated? HELL NO! It was stupid.

Next problem is just the feel of it. I'm sorry, but Hulk Hogan needs to hang them up. He was a terrible host. Layla Ali had more charisma than he did and she was barely bringing it to the table, but it ain't happening. Next thing, simply put (and i'll describe it in my next paragraph)...what the hell is up with having the competitors talking like every 5 minutes...they only talked under one condition...when they won a match like The Wall or the Eliminator, not before the fucking thing started. Yep, another little nitpick. Which brings me to my next subject...

Vince Russo...we all know his name and shudder at the simple fact when we hear his name. Well i'm talking about him here. And while he didn't help, my theory is that he secretly did...because it was like American Gladiators was completely Russo-fied. The Gladiators having issues with the competitiors, having the huge beasts who you think are gonna go over do absoultely NOTHING, and the stupid added rules to certain events. Did the old school "Assault" have you load the cannon and go inside a sand pit to find the arrow for the next stop where you have to load the arrow to fire? FUCK NO! COMPLETE RUSSO F'N RIFFIC~! That's what this new version felt like.

That is pretty much the end of my rant. If somehow someway they decide to make it true American Gladiators and not some flash bang alternative to professional wrestling, fine by me. If I hear it got better and it gets better for me, maybe i'll redeem this rant, but for right now...the diehard hardcore American Gladiators fans just got a spear in the heart.

 

I want to go in wearing my dressing gown today. Just like Arthur Dent would.
