I think you're taking it a tad seriously. It's not exactly Blade Runner... it's not even Raising Arizona.

I don't see why it presents underage drinking as being cool anyway. I mean, they go through hell to get ahold of it in the first place, and then things just continue going to shit, whether because of the alcohol or not. I could say that kids aren't brought up to respect alcohol, or because at a young age people tend to want what's forbidden. It makes a hell of a lot more sense because, somehow, I doubt they've all been brought up watching films that depict drinking.

As far as I'm concerned, Superbad was really accurate, as far as depicting high school goes. Rachel's the only one I've heard say it isn't accurate. Maybe things are different in New England?

It was like reliving my whole high school career in one night.

And I could equate some of the characters to my friends with accuracy.

It was sickeningly accurate, which is why I loved it.

Yeah, those were all the case for me as well. Especially being able to equate different characters to myself and people I've known.

I think most schoolgoers have been through the trials and tribulations of getting alcohol underage. Of course it's not always as amazingly interesting and funny, but the premise Superbad had, was very well done.
