No, I think about it just the same way.

But what most people don't seem to know is that The Departed is a remake of Infernal Affairs...

It kinda is a slap in the face for Martin Scorsese, if you think about it, he finally gets an oscar after all the other brilliant movies he didn't get an oscar for and then it's for a remake of a movie that was actually better in the original version.

 

So...it's better than all of the other crap remakes out there.

My friend said this on another forum and I agree with him.

"Marty put his own spin on the movie and that's whats called art"

I mean, it's no Raging Bull or Taxi Driver or Mean Streets or Goodfellas, but it's better than everyhing Scorsese has done in the last 12 years or so. Those movies are in a league of their own. But it still deserved the Oscar.

Yeah, that's true and I thought The Departed was brilliant, but it was just that he should've gotten his oscar a lot sooner.

Oh hell yeah, I agree. Look at the movies I mentioned up above he did. They're classics.
