I'd say the last 3 years have ignited a new love for the band. I was worried I wasn't feeling the band no more after Living Things but THP to me was a great successor to ATS. Plus, I don't know how unpopular this opinion is, but I absolutely love Welcome. Been my jam since last summer.
How about that new FB live broadcast? We actually got to "hear" new stuff lol, albeit just from Mike humming.
Here's a fun fact. LT and THP were both released in June. The first tour dates for their respective tours were announced in November and December. The lead single of THP was released in early March. And it's March right now and we haven't even got any tour dates. No word of a single or a month or even a season of release except "between June and December". I love it. Seems like they aren't rushing it out this time. And even if they do decide to release the album soon, hopefully there won't be the long ass boring "hype" cycle we got with THP.
With LP, time is an important factor imo. Like, I can trust Death Grips to put out two albums in a year and both will be absolutely amazing. But with LP, it takes time.
It's a bittersweet feeling that Mike won't release an album though I hope for at least an EP in the future....
I was about to make a comment on how fucking ridiculous it is that Michele listened to Welcome 150 times, but then I remembered how I listened to Burn it Down around the same amount of times in the first few days it dropped. I remember listening to it for literally hours on end. God, what was wrong with me?
My thought process on this. > I should post this as news > *goes to their twitter* > "Get a Hybrid Theory shirt for your unborn child!" > "Get this new hat for no particular reason!" > "Buy a unicorn with the Hybrid Theory cover on it!" > ah who gives a shit - "Burn It Down" and "Welcome" are awesome songs, shut the fuck up. - Aaaand I just remembered I still haven't heard "Grudgematch".
I mean, I have the HT CD, but CD rips aren't high quality and I wasn't gonna repurchase it in digital format so I still ended up pirating it (a victimless crime, that album has sold more than enough copies ) so this will be a good way to get a good *legal* digital copy of the album if you care about that kind of thing.
What? Legitimate CD copies are the best source for high-quality rips, short of lossless files straight from the band You wouldn't download a baby
Wait, they are? When I used to rip CDs from iTunes they always sounded like ass and would skip and shit. Maybe it was my settings or my computer or something. Anyways, yes I fucking love Welcome too. I didn't always realize it, honestly I was in a bit of self-denial about how much i liked it because I had been expecting an entire album to follow it up during the #HYPE phase until I read Mike's letter (and then came to grips with the fact that he wasn't just trolling the fuck out of us ) but now I realize that it actually stands up really well on its own. I was actually just thinking about how sick it would be to play the piano bridge part in the right key and then just randomly stumbled onto how to do it on StageLight Fuck it, I'm buying some Welcome merch. That must've been be a sign I need to. Haha what?
Yes, they are. Them skipping may have to do with the condition of your copy. It may also sound like "shit" because of the bitrate your ripped them at.
