Chance of Rain is such a beautiful, chilling song.

Wouldn't it be awesome if the band accidentally leaked something by during these live video :kappa:

Nothing new about the album, but I really like these down to earth videos to the fans.

Yeah, what results in 40 minutes of music can take months to write, record, and edit. Especially with a band like LP, where every single sound and layer has to be perfect, I can imagine Mike spending hours upon hours making teeny tiny edits that most of us couldn't tell the difference between.

Factor in mixing + mastering and the rollout schedules too. It adds up to more than a year

Definitely, and it amazes me how fast artists put out albums 40, 50 years ago. Just goes to show the complete change in how artists handle each of these processes, in the 60s and 70s, it was unusual for an artist to take 3 years between albums, now it's pretty much the norm.

I don't know a single word of Portuguese... But do they say Meteora is Linkin Park glorifying vandalism (graffiti)?

The way Tom Morello was featured on THP is like featuring Stevie Wonder to play the maracas. That's just my opinion though.

I hope they release the other music he was working on with the band in the future. LPU compilation maybe.

He helped to come up with the idea, though -- "Drawbar" wouldn't exist if Morello and LP hadn't jammed it out together.

I swear, people have this idea that LP wrote the whole thing up and, then, called Morello in to add this random gtr part and troll everyone

Misunderstanding. I know he helped make the entire track. I expected too much out of it. "Drawbar" is still a really good instrumental. No need to be condescending or patronizing. I was just offering my insight, just with a sense of humor.

I've got a bad sense of humor though (genuinely, I'm not trying to be ironic). So maybe what I said was off-putting.

If Stevie Wonder came in and created the most magnificent maraca symphony the world has ever heard I don't think it would matter. What I'm trying to say is, sometimes you need a great instrumentalist to write the most simple and beautiful things. Morello could have come in and given us a blistering solo or riff (like Malakian), but for me, nothing could have ever topped Drawbar. I honestly believe that it's one of the greatest pieces of music the band has ever put out. I know it wasn't exactly what we thought we'd get from a Morello collab, but for some reason that makes it all the sweeter. It doesn't sound like Morello. It certainly doesn't sound like Linkin Park. But put the two together and boom, magic happens.

I realized I shouldn't have said what I said. I know Tom was just doing what he did on "Drawbar". It's just that, as a guitarist, I was really looking forward to him going crazy on a LP song but he ended up doing something more subdued - which, in hindsight, is actually really cool because it's something he almost never does. Tom is almost always doing something either aggressive or loud, and it's inspiring to see him reach into more cinematic and serene territory.

It's obvious we need to institute a no-Drawbar discussion rule here. We can discuss greater masterpieces such as Meteora instead.

Drawbar is just kinda there for me...if I'm listening to the album the whole way through I actually really enjoy it but I don't seek it out as an individual track.
