I think if Radiohead released an album of them bashing kitchen appliances some people would still hail it the greatest thing ever.
Downloading the album now, should be good. I liked the mellowness of the track, reminds me of a cross between Kid A and In Rainbows.
I love how mellow it is. It's very relaxing. Progressively, nothing significant. But it's still good, and it'll grow on me the more I listen to it. Can't say I'm disappointed.
No. I'm not disappointed as I know the band can't reinvent themselves every album. I'll still have to listen more to decide if I love it or not though.
This album isn't a huge leap forward, but I like it. "Feral" is the only song I'm not digging at the moment.
Yeah, Ferai seems to be the "Treefingers" of this album. But I can't complain. I like all of the tracks.
After a few more listens, "Feral" has grown on me. This is a good album -- I only wish it was longer. Maybe there's more to come?
I would have to say this album lacks the punch of other RH albums. It feels much more like a EP released in between full releases than a cohesive album. In Rainbows had some immediate standout tracks like Reckoner, but this one feels a lot more subdued in comparison. The music's become a lot more mellow and while that's a style Radiohead excels at, an album full of such tracks sets itself up to be compared to their previous comparable effort, Amnesiac, and I don't think the new contender can win that contest. For what it is though, it's still a damn good album. And I have a feeling this one's gonna be a grower. Many people are hoping that this is only the partial record and the band will follow-up with more songs later, but I doubt it. Apparently, the ending lyrics and title of Separator are the evidence behind that claim.
Besides Pablo Honey I think Amnesiac is the only album of theirs I haven't heard all the way through.
