For some reason everytime I listen to QWERTY I pictured like a huge shoot-out that would happen in an action movie or something. It's not a bad thing or anything.

EDIT: What if a studio version of QWERTY appears on the Crank soundtrack? You never know.

    I like the song more & more everytime I listen to the clips. I'm trying to figure out what Chester is saying on his parts, even though it's extremely difficult to make it out, here's what I've come up with;

    you hide behind your lies,
    you don't know why,
    You crossed the line,
    you fucked up this time,
    ...
    ... all the time...

Probably most definately wrong, but it's worth a guess.

How can you be sure? You haven't heard the whole song yet. It could hold some meaning to the song.

    Figure.09? And One?

Linkin Park isn't exactly known for meaningful song titles.

I didn't say the song, I said anything. "Qwerty" isn't even a word, hence doesn't hold any meaning or relate to anything. If you can give me one interpretation of how "qwerty" can hold any relation to what you've heard of this track be my guest.

I'm going by what I originally said and saying that this is a working title. I'll wait until I hear from the band themselves, and then if they confirm "Qwerty" as the title, I'll expect a pretty good explanation. Until then, or until I see "Qwerty" on the back of their album cover, I'm saying it's a working title.

This might sound stupid, but I always thought they called that song "And One" was because it was their first song they recorded with Chester (who is "And One"). You get what I'm saying?

Yes, but those are still words and are easily open to interpretation on how they relate to the song. "Qwerty" isn't even a word.

Nope, I'm not sure at all. I could be entirely wrong, but that's what I hear, I wouldn't mind cursing in the album at all to be honest.

I know it's my first post, but what's up? Thought I'd drop a note in. In case you're wondering, I'm the dude who originally ripped the Qwerty clip to MP3.

Anyways, here's my interpretation of the lyrics, with lines borrowed from many people, so I definately don't take even half the credit for this:

    Clip 1:

    Hear that?

I didn't think that I had debt to pay
'Til they came to take what I had left away
Now these dudes went and came in protest today
But I remember you sayin' that yesterday
There was a time when the lie wasn't outta control
Every memory, every question, pourin' outta [my soul]

    Clip 2:

    You hide behind your lies
    You don't know why
    You crossed the line
You fucked up inside, from me
    You hide behind your lies
    You must be stronger
No, you're not behind the bar

Well I've already considered lots of things, such as "behind your lies" and well, the syllables just don't sound the same. I'm not saying I'm right, it's just my interpretation. I can kind of see "your" but Chester's "your"s don't typically accent like that. The "lies" though I just can't agree with at all. I actually think "behind the bar" is wrong, but in terms of accuracy and somewhat making sense (if you're behind the bar, you don't have to worry, but if you aren't, you must be stronger since you're basically out in the open) for my interpretation, it seems correct.

I do believe Chester says fuck.

And do I care? No. The band has grown up and so have their fans. If the word fuck bothers you that much, please buy the edited version. You should know already that just because the band doesnt swear on record, doesnt mean they dont pepper their live performances with every foul word in the book.

The band curses regulary in their concerts, so its only a matter of time before it makes it into their records.

Besides. would you rather have something that lacked balls and was whiny (i.e. Meteora) or an album that finally has some cajones to it and a decent amount of credibility (i.e. Qwerty)? The new LP album seems to be going in a darker, less poppy direction..and I (along with about 80% of the old school fans) couldn't be happier.

Not trying to be harsh, just saying..its just fuck.

It wasnt like he said the british word for vagina :).

Now, it'd be stupid to say fuck every other sentence..that I will say now. But in this song it seems to fit where its said.

    kk i c ur point.....my bad lol

just that ya i know alot of people are goin 2 start saying that " aw linkin park were such a good band cuz they didnt cuss" and all kinds

and i think linkin park were respected by the fact they didnt cuss in ANY of their songs..

meanwhile other fans like u and i wuldnt mind at all cuz in some songs i guess it could fit (like qwerty) and mike does swear in reading my eyes but that was a while ago...

in my opinion i dont care as long as if it fits the song

i agree with the the_rising_tied on that if it fits the song its not a bad thing, but i dunno, if their songs become littered with swearing, then its gonna bring down the quality of their lyrics.
i remember a quote from mike where he said they didnt swear beause it drove them to express things in other, better ways. a few words here and there couldnt hurt though

Well it honestly used to be an important thing until I realized that fuck is fuck.

If the song is still good lyrically (apart from that cuss word)...I just dont think a fuck is going to tarnish the quality of it lol.

haha no of course its not. just as long as every second line doesnt become home to swear words its actually a move in the right direction, like you said it shows some maturity and less of a pop tendancy.
*pulls hair out in exasperation* need full qwerty
