So what is the "real" reason for Ben leaving anyway? I'm trying to not sound like a dumb Evanescence fan

 

Amy doesn't want to tell anyone but she's assuring everyone it had nothing to do with the fact she's dating Shaun Morgan. If that was the case, Ben would've left 7 months ago.

 

I guess Amy is entitled to her privacy, and I hope she and the rest of the band can continue to do well without Ben.
