You should upgrade to the North American version of 2.0 for the simple fact that with the Japanese version you are voiding the warranty.

Mmkay, can someone post a link to it, if it's out?
It isn't out, still, after two release dates and one being a whole window of a week. I wouldn't expect it out any time soon. Keep in mind the European launch date for the PSP is September 1st.

Sony threw us a curveball. The upgrade has been released today! You can use a WiFi connection or with a USB connection, download it from a direct link right here.
Shit... -------------------------------------------------- The system software on your PSP™ system is version 2.00. There is no need to update. -------------------------------------------------- O Back Anyone else get this?
Did you download the Japanese upgrade? If you did, then you have the update, nothing is different.
Ok, good.
man, i'm loving this. I love having the browser on it. So far it's been running pretty smoothly. Only thing I hate, you can't download and run anything. Maybe that'll be in the next update. So make that a note, don't download anything, cause you won't get an option to run it...trust me...I learned out the hard way. I tried downloading quick time so I could watch trailers, it's downloaded, but I can't view it on my psp, so I can't delete it. So now I have to go buy a USB cable and see If I can delete it that way. Unless any of you have found a way around this. Please, if you've found some cool tricks, let us know.
Why would you download Quicktime in the first place considering the system itself has movie play back features? You can download movies, but they have to be saved to a certain folder. music downloads to the music folder and images to their folder.
