edit: because some mccain fans are butt hurt that he lost and are even more butt hurt that mccain blamed himself.
McCain said that it was his fault that he lost the election and not the fault of his supporters. They started booing what he said (because they obviously felt that it was their fault, not his) and then started to chant his name in support. But like I've said, I've got a new found respect for McCain after his speech.
To the people who supported McCain die-heartedly that I know in person: Grow up, I swear I can't stand their ignorance. They can't accept it for some reason and they talk like "Now i'm gonna have to move" etc...
Where was this John McCain during his campaign? Surely he would have had many more supporters. The crowd is making themselves look like asses though. EDIT: As well as almost every McCain supporter I am seeing online.
What's worse than those kinds of people claiming that they now have to "move out of the country" is the fact that a lot of them have often claimed that McCain is the only "true American" running in the race, but now that Obama is President, they're suddenly not "true Americans" either, since they'd be willing to abandon their country.
I am, too. It's pathetic how full of hate some of these people are, especially because none of them seem to know what Socialism is. Even the man running as the Socialist Party's nominee has said that Obama is not a Socialist.
Pierre Thomas just brought up something interesting. Black slaves (and some free) built the White House. And now the first black President is going to be moving into it come January. That's pretty humbling, and no matter what party and ideals you are affiliated with, you should be proud of your country for this moment. I know my earlier comments about not voting probably made it seem like I wasn't for either one, but I've always been for Obama, and even went on my lunchbreak to vote for Obama today. I still don't believe things will change.
I know. It's sad. Like I said in Random Thoughts, it really is shocking to see what some of these people are saying, especially because there are a lot of them I really thought I knew. But now they're really full of hate and it's kind of sickening.
Yeah a lot of people are just closed-minded and its sick what they are saying. If thats how they truly feel, they should leave the country because America is not about bigotry and racism.
Exactly. Some chick just changed her status to "I'm moving to Canada." Honestly, that's not going to solve shit. All those people will do is make Canada worse, since all the shit they're against Obama doing is just what Canada already has, for the most part.
Ok, my story of how I almost didn't get to vote. I mailed in my and my husband's voter registration forms a while ago, walked into the post office and handed them to the clerk. Anyway, he went down to vote before I did, and when he got home he said that they couldn't find him on the register at first, but finally did on the very last page, of the people that registered late. I went down there, and my name wasn't on the register at all. I ended up having to call the county office and they made me go through this long process of filling in a provisional ballot and registering there at the polling place. GRRRR. I hate paper work.
