Hell yes. I share your excitement. He was born only two hours away from me in scranton, pa so he will definitely help obama win PA.

Biden is an excellent pick and I couldn't be more thrilled. :D

Biden isn't the pick I was hoping for, but he should help Obama get votes in Pennsylvania and Florida. I think this works in the campaigns favor so I'm pretty positive on it.

I won't lie, I didn't see this coming at all. I figured Obama would've ended up picking Clinton, but I'm glad he didn't.

I still sort of wish it would've ended up being an Obama-Gore ticket, though.

Gore would've been a decent choice, but also in my opinion rather gimmicky because of his almost celebrity status in regards to his stance on Global Warming. While I love Gore as a politician; in my honest opinion, Biden is the best choice because he will help Obama in regards to some of the more important 'statistical groups' that he had trouble connecting with during the primaries (mainly the working class and seniors).

He will also help to quiet down some of the issues people have with Obama's experience in Washington and in foreign policy, seeing as Biden is well qualified in both aspects. Quite simply, Obama got it right on the money.

I've been raving about this choice all day and I can't lie...I'm actually excited as hell now to promote Obama/Biden and get them elected this fall. Who's with me? :)

I was hoping for an Obama/John Edwards ticket, actually. It was pretty unlikely to happen and all, and I think Biden is a better pick than Clinton or Al Gore or some of the other names that were mentioned, but he wasn't my first or even second pick. I liked Evan Bayh as a potential VP too.

You must not have seen the news lately, so I'll let you know:

Edwards was out of the running for VP a couple of weeks ago. He admitted to having an extramarital affair with one of his aides, and what's worse is that he lied about it the entire him he was questioned on it during his run for president. He's a rotten pig.

All you have to do is search "edwards affair" in google news, and you'll be brought up to speed.

I know all about the Edwards affair. And I don't care about it one bit, it does absolutely nothing to change my opinion of what kind of leader he's capable of being. Same thing happened with Bill Clinton.

I think it's a little bit sanctimonious to be against a politician purely because of something like that. At the end of the day they're people and people do things like that. I mean, in an interview with GQ Nick Clegg said he'd slept with "no more than" 30 women by the time he was that age (although with the way he worded it it could just as well mean he's done so with no one) but I think it's plain to see he'd be a much better prime minister than either Brown or Cameron if the media didn't already have a vendetta against his party. And just to clarify I do know about the circumstances of what Edwards did.
I probably could have put that better but I didn't have the best sleep due to a pretty ridiculous storm last night, haha.

They say Washington is just Hollywood for ugly people. The medias fascination with where a politicians dick has been only further reinforces that.

Sorry, but I disagree. If someone lies about who they're fucking, what else could they be lying about? It may not affect their ability to lead, but it affects my ability to trust them, and I want a president I can trust.

That may be true, but it's hard to fault a presidential candidate for lying.
They're bullshit merchants who campaign for months on end telling people everything they want to hear, and then delivering on approximately 1/10th of their promises. The only difference is Edwards got caught. Same shit, different election.

Everybody lies and different people lie about different things. Someone might lie about things pertaining to relationships and then be honest about less trifling matters if they ever come up. I know that's been the case with me in the past. Politicians of any persuasion lie and bullshit more than the average person; it's practically part of their job, for better or for worse, so to doubt someone's political acumen because of something that probably wouldn't even have received as much attention in an ideal world is kind of moot.

I'm not sure Biden is the best pick Obama could have chosen. I do like his (Biden's) candor at times but he also opens himself up with the stupid things he says from time to time. Plus it also goes a little against the typecast that Obama has been speaking about over the last 18 months and that is to shake up Washington, change the way its always been, etc. Biden has been a Senator for 30+ years so I dont understand Obama and his staff's thinking here. I think I agree with what the news outlets were saying over the weekend that it was a safe choice. I guess I'm not so much disappointed as perplexed by this.

Any unauthorized person with a gun near the president or a presidential candidate should be considered a threat. Doesn't fall down to what nationality you are, it's the fact that the Denver police force did their jobs by arresting these two gentleman.

The fact these gentleman said that killing Obama was their intent means that there IS a threat to the senator, and I just pray to god nothing happens this Thursday. In all honesty, I'm scared a little.

I'm very very worried about how this is going to turn out.

The Obama Internet following might well be pretty big and nifty, but I just have a terrible feeling gnawing away.

But aside from that, there is little I can really comment on - except the Democrating thing which I managed to catch last night. And, I've got to be honest, as much as I despised Mrs Clinton - all credit to her for re-enforcing the need for unity.

I'm thinking it'll give McCain LOTS of female votes now that his running mate's a woman.
