AKA a bill on-part with Obama's Economy/job agenda. AWARD: Deciphering the bill. (407 pages long) and simply putting it in bulliten format of easily read facts.
It sounds good and although he hasnt been in office 100 days yet the outlook has grown more dire. Unrelated or not, he has backtracked or broken campaign promises about earmarks, no lobbyists or people with questionable ethics working in his White House/Administration, putting the US first and most of all about being the President of "change." I realize the hole he has inherited but printing more money for bailouts which have not worked for a year now is not going to solve the problem. If you ask me, we have elected the second coming of Jimmy Carter, not Jesus Christ as some kooks would have you believe. He has the spending portion of being a "typical" Democrat down pat, I'm just waiting for the tax increase which he has already laid down the groundwork for in his speech last week. I'm just curious why there has been no outrage about the pork spending? If McCain had been elected (or any Republican for that matter) instead of Obama no one could tell me there would not be a huge poopfest being raised. As I stated before, its still way early but Obama has a chance to prove himself if he vetoes the pork-laiden budget presented by the Congress. But, he wont.......
I've noticed that too, The Bailouts hasn't solved anything except delay. And plus, Printing money for bailout is essentially Inflating our doller, which isn't good right?
It's been shown before that inflationary policies, rather than deflationary ones (i.e. the more economically conservative types) are the better way for dealing with recessions. Though a lot still has to do with how exactly those policies (like the printing of more money) are put to use, the general point remains.
There were umpteen different other factors affecting Germany during that period, don't forget. Ideally money should be invested in public works and infrastructure, creating new jobs and such. It's when the newly printed money is put into bullshit bail outs spent by the banks on their executives as bonuses where it doesn't work.
Well, in Germany it was used to pay off their massive reparations largely. But yeah, I was just kidding around, I don't know enough about economics to actually argue.
Obama's issued warnings to companies who were thinking about doing that. He told them he'll take away all their bailout money and put it somewhere where it won't be wasted like that.
Ah. I don't do too well at picking up sarcasm/jokes on the interwebz without smilies. ------------------ Will: That's great. About time someone actually did something about that situation rather than just jumping up and down about it (*coughKevinRuddcough*).
As I understand it, once the economy does turnaround there will be a high inflationary period because of all the money that has been printed over the last 18 months and the money not being spent by everyone who is eking out survival right now. The next 2 years are going to be ugly but Obama will get re-elected because the economy will have rebounded by probably late 2010 or early 2011 depending on who you ask. All this "Depression" talk is just as stupid as the idea of people claiming that the Bush Administration was fostering fear (terrorism) to get re-elected. Its the same thing except the economy is the MO.
