Can a band be happy for once? Not every band has to be depressed or pissed all the time. [/b][/quote]
please don't double post. i've told you before and next time it's a warning.

I passionately hate Good Charlotte as a band, I also detest their music, lyrics and song meanings. It's all about their bad childhoods and to make songs about having their fans rebel and be punks with them. I don't have any respect for them, but I don't think they're posers. Good Charlotte lack substance that would make them a respectable band, in my opinion of music.

All I can say is.... "Hello!?!"

I'll quote you all one at a time:

    Trapt says:
Elie says: Of course they can! But they're writing like that in EVERY song, and considering what you guys are telling us about NFG (they're #### growing up), then they're obviously being crap that they're not, and it's in most every song.

This is dedicated to the kids says:

Elie says: Linkin Park writes about human emotion and universal stuff (that's what Mike says). I bet if you asked their lead singer (if he wrote the lyrics at all, I have no idea), he'd probably be like "Yeah, this all manifested from the #### I had to deal with as a child growing up. But don't ask me how I came up with 'Life Styles of the Rich & Famous'" Any band can write about whatever the hell they want, as Will said, but it's when they're trying to be someone they're not, that it's annoying. NFG was a good band, until they started making rap-like "P-Diddy" videos, with people with soo much jewelry and "bling-bling" you could outweigh Shaq Oneal's hummer. In conclusion, LP's not labeled as "Posers" because they're being their own. Their videos are unique, and express themselves. Yet these posers we talk about express nothing but "DAMN! Can you believe we're on TRL?! We need to make videos that are constantly 'POPPY', cause you'll never know what 25 seconds the TRL show will play of our video!"

    MentalMel911 says:
Elie says: Wow. That was deep. *get's out of the shallow end* I can pose and do whatever I want. But this is the "music" industry. Like I said before, if you're not here to make music, go into some other industry, there are others you know. There is no excuse for "bad" music. I've heard alot of "crap" bands out there, and some people defend them by saying they're "underground", or "trying not to pose". Get over yourselves, the bands suck, don't cover it up with whatever you're saying. The reason I can agree to having GC and bands of their nature showing up in the "ghetto" is cause they're being something they're not, a rap/pop/punk group, I mean, wtf. If you're gonna blend something, blend it nicely like LP. You think you're done? You said, "You are what you are and you can't change it. ", so can't that saying go to the bands you were trying to defend?

    1. I never said that LP were 'Posers'.

    2. Since when have NFG made 'P-Diddy' style videos?

    3. I never said anything about GC so how did they come into you saying stuff to me? (just curious)

I sound too intelligent for an 12 year old. :p

It's not a natural part of growing, it is a part of us. I think that everyone, even myself, had try to "pose" and fit in to a certain group. Oh sure, I made it, but does it really matter? Not really.

    I've just noticed something...

There are such things as opinions. People like different things. For example lots of people 'love' Metallica BUT lots of people 'hate' Metallica (Myself included) and people who say Metallica suck so the 'fans' of Metallica are going to say all they need to defend them even though it may not make a difference to the person/people 'dissing' them.

I think you've noticed that people defend what they love and what's precious to them. In my opinion, there really is no point of defending because the opinion is hard to change no matter how hard you try to change someones mind.

"Lifestyles of the rich and the famous" does talk about real stuff believe it or not...yeah it sounds kinda poppy..but does every song have to be all heavy and sorrowful all the time...

there is nothing wrong with a band telling you to throw your hands up up eaither..some of there songs are about having a good time there is nothing wrong with that..not all of there songs have to be meaningful or touch you in some way.

*hears kid in background* Mommy, everyone's arguing....

Is there really a such thing as 'normal'? You see a lot of bands/artists that seem like they're very similar to everyone else, so you label them as 'normal'. Every person has their own style and their own technique in music. Sometimes, I don't get why people criticize a band, not for the reason that they despise their music, but that they just think their music is not 'normal', compared to what we listen to today. So I don't really think there is a such thing as a 'poser', unless that person is trying exactly to be like a person, besides themselves. So my point is.....*thinks*.......ok, I just forgot, I'll get back to you.......

I don't think I made any sense. *confused look*

Most of Good Charlotte's songs are the way of life.

    Lifestyles of Rich and Famous
    Girls and Boys
    The Young and the Hopeless
My Story of My Old Man

    Strong Lyrics (in my opinion):

    The Day that I Die
    Emotionaless
    Say Anything

See the whole point of this thread was being a poser or not. It never specifically said that it has to be band. It was the whole Avril Lavigne thing that started this whole band thing.

it's about how rich people live their lives, that's not meaningful. it's bad storytelling. if they want to write about the lifestyles of the rich/famous, write a book or something, but don't pollute the airwaves with annoying pop-"punk"-rock stuff that gets overplayed almost as much as 50 cent videos.

    Riddle me this...

Isn't music supposed to be a way for you to express yourself? I bet if LP wrote a song like "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" you wouldn't care.

Music is a way to express yourself and GC are expressing they way they feel in that song.

Even though they're rich & famous themselves, and have nothing to female dog about. They don't have a right to female dog about how other musicans and celebrities act, because I bet you they act that way themselves
