I think he's making more enemies at the cost of trying to protect his citizens. And unluckily, Canada is attached to the US.

Bush is trying to protect his own country, but, in a way, is failing at it, because he's essentially killing Americans as well.

I don't think he neccesarily means to do that (obviously, I don't think anyone would) but that's what's happening.

    Cause and effect.

No, Bush is not trying to protect his country. That's the bullshit propaganda that he feeds that so many unfortunately believe.

To put it bluntly, off of a bumber sticker I saw, "It's the oil stupid". Oil is the whole reason we went into Iraq. Think we're in there to save the poor Iraqis? Sorry, but we didn't even go into WWII to help the Jews when they were being slaughtered. AND, my point still doesn't appear to have stuck, there was nothing to protect us from. The only thing we're 'protecting' america from is our own paranoia and fear. I'm not saying that a country COULD bomb us. I'm saying that we had no reason to suspect Saddam/Iraq would, and therefore the war was pointless (other than for oil). Facts for above statement:

    - CIA told Bush prior to war in Iraq that there was no significant intelligence of any kind, newer than 10 years old, to suggest that Iraq had any weapons of mass destruction.

    - Bush planned long before 9/11 to go into Iraq. Why? Oil.

Now Bush, and many of the 'patriotic' Americans, are saying that even though no weapons were found, the war was still necessary. Sorry, but if the war wasn't necessary in the first place, then it sure as hell isn't after no weapons were found. Then come the whole arguments "well they COULD get weapons and bomb us yadda yadda yadda. Yeah, well trees could fall on the houses of American citizens, should we go on a massive deforestation project? Oh wait bush has already wrecked the environment as well, bad analogy.
