So what if it's just me calling you out? If you think that I care about you're opinion, then I should be calling out about half of this board for not liking the album. I don't even know why I'm wasting my time calling you out about you wasting your time on something you like dammet.
This album will give them 6 #1's on the Billboard 200, and thus, will give them the honor of having the most for any band this century. Both Disturbed and Dave Matthews Band each have 5 #1's this century.
I loved coliision course. The DVD was awesome and hilarious. Anyway congrats to the guys, OML deserves to do well. Very happy for them.
I'm happy it sold more than THP. Would have sucked for the band to have had reduced numbers after having a more mainstream album. But then again, now the disrespectful fans who didn't like the album will go "oh, see? They sold out and it paid off. Blah blah" Ah well, can't win em all I guess. Congrats to LP. Here's hoping that whatever albums they release from now on, their sales keep increasing more and more with every release Just FYI guys. You don't need to like an album to wish success to a band you like.
I'm happy they released such a successful album which will bring fhem into the focus again because they deserve if. I or some other fans may or may not like the album but after releasing such highly emotional album they deserve a recognition.
Hope they can hold the sales momentum by releasing a ``proper single``. I am counting on Sorry for now and sharp edges . But LP is unpredictable both in terms of genre and promotion.
So true. I'm hoping Sorry For Now and Talking To Myself become actual singles with videos and a whole promotional campaign behind them like what they did for Heavy. Ever since Living Things, LP have been completely unreliable on proper promotion for singles that aren't the lead singles.
Ikr. Invisible is the official second single, apparently. Will it get much promotion or a video? And apparently, despite having a video Good Goodbye is not an official single, yet. Which makes no sense to me.
But Adam told in one of the forums here that Invisible is not a single yet in the US because of how well Heavy is doing. Although the band does use #InvisibleLP like they did with #HeavyLP Man, I still get annoyed with how much they messed up LITE and COG releases.
That's really cool. Congrats to the guys. I hope this doesn't lead to more pop music tho Oh and Invisible as a single? Noooo, I think Sharp Edges would be a much better single.
Sharp Edges would be an awesome single. Think if promoted right it could blow up. Great summertime track.
Congrats to the guys. I don't think this means a continuation of "pop" music at all. They haven't stuck to the same sound for the last 5 albums so chances are they will do something completely different next time. That will be interesting.
I am not a fan of chart peeking but this is massive news. Congratulations to LP, deserved! I love the album af.
Expecting a normal drop in sales in second week. This is the best opportunity for pushing album sales through a new single.
I think we can also discuss the total of worldwide sales expected for OML. I think 2 million would be good, but probaby too ambitious as the album for me was very consistent, but reaching 2 million considering the big amount of fans the band has lost either along the way or in this album cycle alone, taking into account that music doesn´t sell as much as it did 10 or 15 years ago and the fact that the kind of music which sells more than any other is pop, is very difficult and I wouldn´t be too surprised if the sales of OML would be only a tiny bit higher than THP or even way lower. No matter how good an album may be nowadays, it´s almost impossible that it can sell 10 million copies worldwide and probably OML wouldn´t have sold 10 million if it had been released 10 years ago.
