I noticed someone edited the One More Light genre description from pop, pop/rock to garbage :( I guess that´s the ultimate backlash of some angry teen out there. The band just can´t keep singing about the things they sang in their 20s. In a sense I agree with the girl from the react video that they made it more mellow because teen angst is not in anymore (at least in terms of sales because in terms of quality it´s always very high) and understand that some people may get puzzled when watching Heavy as they might not recognize the band by that particular song, but from this record you can recognize some of their past work in One More Light, Talking To Myself and 1 or 2 other songs. I just think people should not be so harsh on a band that marked the 2000s era, but is still up and going against all the sometimes senseless and baseless criticism, whining and backlashing and that´s why I understand when Chester says "Move the f*** from Hybrid Theory" and ""Stab yourselves in the face", that´s the angst part of this album cycle, I guess :) Of course I miss some of the music from the old days, but they should do new things every time in order to explore uncharted waters creative-wise and have, as the band said, something for everyone in order to reach the highest number of people possible. That is their real concept of Hybrid Theory (experimentation with new genres and sounds) and the way they approach music, breaking the boundaries of genre in every record and challenging the fanbase to be part of this hybrid theory. Just be grateful for the fact that the band is still here making music for all of you after their formation as Xero 21 years ago.
