Saw the other night. NIN was as awesome as expected, set list was pretty heavy on The Downward Spiral. They only played like two songs from Year Zero, which was disappointing since I didn't catch that tour and liked that album, but was to be expected on a farewell tour. And no "Closer" was a bonus. Jane's was good, but mixed in slow stuff at what seemed like the wrong moments, like Summertime Rolls right after Been Caught Stealing. And a slow jam or song i wasnt' familiar with right after Mountain Song. Surprise of the night was how much I liked Street Sweeper. I will be getting their cd as soon as it comes out.
I urge everyone to go to Echoing the Sound and download the completely FREE and LEGAL torrent/mp3/FLAC versions of "Corona Radiata". You might remember when Trent released the 400 gigs of HD footage. This 2 disc live "bootleg" is the audio from those 3 nights of shows that were released, and remastered. It's fucking amazing. Sound quality is perfect (so far), sounds like an officially released live CD. I guess you could kinda say it is, but y'know what I mean. GO GET IT! http://www.echoingthesound.org/phpbbx/viewtopic.php?t=46419
bump. i can do that, right? seeing as how it's an official thread and whatnot? bootleg is out for the last ever show. it's pretty star studded, and has a ton of songs that you'd never think they would play (down in the park? really?). oh yeah, and monday was the 10th anniversary of "the fragile". my best friend discovered he had a vinyl copy, and gave it to me since he doesn't like nin. that made my night, but what made it even more is the news that trent is working on reissuing the album next year. probably in the same way he did the downward spiral. remastered audio, demos, b-sides, etc. that's going to be fucking epic. and there are rumors of a "wave goodbye" tour dvd being in the works. not to mention year zero still being "alive" apparently. i think he's getting married next month, too.
OMG, WHAT?!! They played "Down In The Park"?! I think a remastered "Pretty Hate Machine" would be nice ...
Reznor produced the Manson cover, so technically no, he himself/NIN haven't covered it until that concert. I don't think bootlegs are allowed here, Jordan, but all things considered, NIN shows have had an open taping/trading policy for about a year or two now, I believe. That's how the This One's On Us Project came to be. In any case, the last show is pretty widely available. I suggest everyone obtain it. Pretty Hate Machine will probably never see a re-issue or anything like that, from Reznor atleast. Rykodisc bought the rights to the album, along with (iirc) a shitload of stuff from TVT Records a few years ago. They were interested, but weren't willing to pay him what he wanted to do the remaster. That's the only album you'll never see get that treatment, since from Broken onwards was released on Nothing/Interscope. EDIT:
So now that he doesn't tour he'll be working with a ton of other musicians? Because if so, I want a Brian Eno/Trent Reznor collaboration . btw, hi casey.
Well, I'd at least like a remaster of "Broken". So "Wish" could have as much punch as, say, "March Of The Pigs".
