The album, for me was kinda hard to listen to all the way through, I wanted to skip around. Maybe that's because I just recently became a Nine Inch Nails fan. In small doses, this is a good CD. I liked The Good Soldier the best. That or Survivalism or Capital G. Not just because they are radio tracks, but because they are solid.
Multitrack files of God Given, TBOTE, and Vessel have been released. Someone on ETS did a test mashup of God Given and SexyBack... and my god. it's lovely. the complete one should be finished tonight.
That was awesome! Nine Inch Nails are one of those bands that have multiple layers to their sound that you kind of need to break through to completely appreciate them. I found it difficult in the first three listens to get used to 'The Fragile' and needed even more listens for 'The Downward Spiral', but once you get accustomed to the foreign-ness (word?) of NIN's sound, they're amazing.
I Am Still Trying To Believe The NIN thread died yet again... Ok, ETS members found this chillin on the side of the nin hotline's website. clicky clicky Follow the clues. If it's not official, it's pretty damn good. However, if you google Shapermusic (the person who did the remixes) his official site leads to this. So I'm thinking...YZ2? Because his myspace is just as fancy as the website. :] I particularly love the remixes
Whoaly shit. That's a badass site. I can't listen to the songs until I'm off work, but it looks frickin' cool (and official-like). Very excited about whatever this is.
The "Survivalism" remix sucks, butr the "My Violent Heart" remix is alright. Still, for free it's good. lol
Unfortunatley it is just a fansite. FUCKKK. Just when I thought there might be life in the ARG again. *headdesk* The remixes are still really good for fan ones though.
So Mali just got back from the NIN concert. It was awesome. I feel the need to rave. IT WAS AWESOME. [/rave]. I think it was the best of my limited concert experience (eleven music concerts), right next to KoRn and their stage pornography (lovely, scantily-clad women gyrating against what looked like prison bars, with questionable leather items on their persons). The special effects were awesome. I loved the screen they lowered down, and the way they displayed pretty stuff on it and then the flashes that would give a person epileptic seizures if they looked at them for too long. My only minus? They did not sing God Given! Damnit! [EDIT] But the supporting band was nuts. I liked them. They were Evanescence's supporting band, as well. As they played, a video was on the giant screen. It was of mutilation, of people ripping into a man's body and eating his intestines, of limbs being hacked off, being sawed off by a chainsaw, of disgusting things. There was another video of what seemed to be a domme S&M queen dominating what looked like a librarian, and then some shots of the librarian doing her makeup. And I could not understand why they would show such a thing!
man a nin concert would be so awesome. the remixes are okay, but VERY awesome site, looks pretty legit.
it's not legit though, its just a fansite, as discovered maybe...3 days after the site was originally found. i was bummed :[ BIG FUCKING EDIT- TENTATIVE RELEASE DATE FOR YEAR ZERO REMIX ALBUM. SEPT 24TH. still no name. so...I'm saying December for release. We're still waiting for Closure on dvd
I'm pretty sure we can revive the NIN thread, being as it's "official" and all (ie: endorsed by Mark, etc).
