Because straying away from their typical style and writing a 3-part symphony isn't bringing something new to the table.
Am I the only who loves the last one and half minutes of Madness? I mean, I keep repeating from 3:00 onwards. It just gets so rich with music that it's a pleasure for the ears. On the other hand, survival is THE worst Muse song for me now. It's so damn cheesy. The best song for me is still New Born followed by Map of the problematique. Madness is growing steadily though.
Survival is sick. Unsustainable is sick, and could be epic once paired with and followed by Isolated System. Madness is also sick. This album is going to be diverse as fuck, which is something nobody could ever say about Living Things.
That's a bad assumption. LT was pretty diverse. Maybe not as diverse as ATS but was more diverse than the other LP albums. Living things 1st 5 songs were more diverse than Meteora as a whole. According to your assumption, then The Resistance wasn't diverse either other than for the last 3 songs.
^ Don't worry about him, he's managed to work in his disregard for LT in almost every post in a Muse thread and clearly wants a reaction. Don't give it to him.
I've been so busy that I didn't even realize Madness came out. I like it a lot. This should be a great album.
Madness is one of my new favorite Muse tracks now. Awesome, fantastic song. Survival and Unsustainable still suck ass though. I'm all for being diverse, but not if it blows.
I don't know how you all don't like "Survival." It's very Muse-ish. Very, very Muse-ish. I can understand not appreciating "Unsustainable" as much. "Madness" is really awesome, despite the lacking guitar solo.
Enjoy.
