This album keeps getting better and better for me. I listen to nearly every type of music practically, and for me, Prelude/Survival and Unsustainable are effing amazing songs. The problem that has haunted dubstep since the very beginning is that nearly every dubstep song sounds the same. Only few have broken that curse. Chase & Status and Skrillex are a few, and it seems like Muse has too, with actual instruments aswell! Prelude/Survival made the past 16 days awesome, just one of many reasons why this Olympiad is one of the best and most spectacular in history.

Looking forward to Madness and The 2nd Law, and if we're lucky, more promo singles like Unsustainable, and if we're extremely lucky, a few leaks!

Prelude, Big Freeze, Liquid State, Unsustainable, Isolated System, Save Me, Panic Station, Madness...sounds like a run through from start to finish of my Thermodynamics course at Uni :kappa:

I like dubstep, a little bit, I mean I do like Korn(step), but this. Fuck. The build-up was awesome, felt like a big disaster movie trailer or something, and then the blockheaded robot comes in and just fucks it all up with it's forced(step). Bleh.

I feel like both of these songs might sound a little better with the context of the rest of the album. We'll see.

Just to let everyone know - the album version of "Survival" is on A Symphony of British Music, the London 2012 closing ceremony soundtrack. It includes that millisecond transition from "Prelude", although an album quality m4a of "Prelude" hasn't appeared yet.

Man, I wouldn't like to be a Muse fan right now... say what you want but these two new songs aren't good.

Most people say Muse started a downfall with Black Holes and Revelations. While I agree to an extent, you can see it from Black Holes and the two new songs, Resistance was one of my favorite Muse albums. Even though I do like Black Holes a lot as well.

Oh for fuck's sake, this album is going to send me into a depression. So disappointed with what's been released thus far.

The bridge is okay, but there were so many opportunities for this to take off with a soaring guitar solo (think "Invincible").

Are they even a fucking rock band anymore? I'm crestfallen.

Wow, that was different. The song reminds me of something from one of Mike's The Raid scores. This song has a potential with the relaxing instrumental but that beat it pretty bad with the sharp click. The guitar is great though. And the vocals fail to continue on the relaxing instrumental.

A soaring guitar solo does not a rock band make.

Also, this was like the exact same argument people made when The Catalyst came out.

Anyways, I enjoyed the song quite a bit. Go Muse for doing something different!

It doesn't, but great riffs are kind of Muse's calling card.

The difference, in my opinion, is Linkin Park actually pulled it off with The Catalyst and A Thousand Suns.

This is too foreign for me. Muse is my favourite band, and I've loved their previous experimental stuff (Exogenesis Symphony, for example), but this is glitchy, hollow nonsense. These songs have done nothing for me.

This is the absolute last outcome I could have expected after hearing the three released songs.
