Um. "Go, leaving all you've known / You are not alone" "Hold on, the wait of the world will give you the strength to go / Just hold on" "When life leaves us blind / Love keeps us kind" "Weep not for roads untraveled / Weep not for sights unseen / May your love never end, and if you need a friend / There's a seat here alongside me" All of these qualify as "uplifting". Not Alone was literally written to uplift people in the wake of a disaster.
I don't think I was asking for a pure happy jolly song. That wouldn't fit with the band. I just stated that I desired more positive forward looking songs. Where then I gave an example such as Robot Boy where the song begins very personally and then ends with very positive uplifting lyrics. Also there's always Iridescent as well.
Wouldn't shock me if it's all Chester and Kiiara on this one. The lyrics hint at maybe Kiiara singing the second verse, she always seems to drop in an f-bomb on her tracks so guess it could be well be her verse.
I like them honestly. I mean they aren't HOLY SHIT! but I didn't have expectations for that on the first single.
I'll never understand why bands reveal the lyrics before the songs. It's a recipe for a disaster. Now everyone can form an opinion on the song before they even get to fucking hear it, and they can listen to the song for the first time thinking "oh those lyrics are shit", and neglect whatever the song sounds like.
Can't enter this topic without mentioning Blackout, a very violent song and then a strangely serene song all in one.
Idk man, Deafheaven could've released the lyrics to baby blue before release and I would've had a positive reaction because I thought those lyrics were great. Then again, I know what I'm getting with that band. *shrug*
I hope you all know that these aren't going to be the best lyrics from the album. Obviously it going to be a bit bland and repetitive since it is a single. We all remember how Until It's Gone came out as a single? Didn't really fit the album IMO, it was more an industry popular "single"
I wonder if the video will premiere at the same time as the single drops instead of a lyric video, now that the lyrics have been released?
I think we all remember how really repetitive and boring the song was, mainly.. this sounds better already.
Hate the lyrics. It's tailored for a vulnerable community out there who are depressed. Linkin Park is not in that head space anymore. I was hoping for some maturity, coming of age, uplifting content with this album and less depressive content.
Honestly all I want at this point is a full instrumental album by Mike by himself (maybe feat. Joe on production and some scratching and Brad on production and guitar parts), with nothing but songs like Session, Tinfoil, Madman Returns, etc. That's my dream rn, not this fucking high school bs that's only second worse lyrically to Until It's Gone.
I really don't see what's the problem with these lyrics. I quite like them to be honest. Also, for the people who play the guitar, Capo on the 4th fret, play these chords to the rythm of the song: F, Am, C, D. Have fun singing/playing the new linkin park song. You'll get a good idea of how the song will sound and you'll notice the lyrics sound better with actual music behind them.
