Maybe you are right!
that sounds pretty good to me. maybe they could release a couple of live dvds and cds after "live in texas" with footage from the Australian Tour and the UK Tour. and maybe some meteora remixes but not a whole album like reanimation

that doesn't take a year to record and could keep fans happy and burn up some time ready for the next album

    ******

that sounds like the best reason to me

I think it mostly has to do with releasing maybe a single from live in texas. WTH, even reanimation had one.

Ummm... that is the way all recording companies work... Tuesday is the release day for cds in the US, Monday for UK... :phoenix:

I think that, releasing their singles so fast, they try to get the "hit song" but they can't seem to find it. In my opinion, Faint was the one, but maybe they think the results aren't good enough...

    I hope you're right.
Cause 4 Singles within 10 months that's very commercial...
Linkin Park wanted to get Meteora out of the way as fast as they possibly could, because of the whole sophmore album nonsense. They wanted to put the sophmore slump BS behind them and move on as a band, as Mike said this before Meteora even came out.

That's why it's been rumored that Linkin Park are already working on a new album and are planning to release it next summer (2004) after Chester recovers from his hernia and they are able to record. As you all know, Meteora showed a band trapped in the task of following up to a multi-platinum record setting debut, as while some songs we're pretty good, it was not a total upgrade from Hybrid Theory and managed to sound the same lyrically and sound wise on a few of the songs. (Count how many times Linkin Park said the word 'pain' on this record and you'll get exactly what I mean, LP never said pain once on Hybrid Theory.)

Even with that, Meteora is still selling faster then Hybrid Theory ever was and unlike Hybrid Theory (which came out of nowhere at the end of 2001 in the top ten to become the best selling album of 2001) has kept a steady grip on the 1-30 spots on the billboard album charts.

Meteora sold 3 million copies in less then 8 months. It also according to an ad for Meteora was Warner's highest debut in its history as a record company. I believe even Reanimation went platinum in its sales.

18-19 Million records sold worldwide of all 3 albums combined, can't be wrong. Hopefully LP will take the hint and make their next record a total step away from Hybrid Theory, completely evolving as a band.

Hey, welcome here Michael :D .

I really hope there's a new album coming  . I'm sure it's gonna be great, I think they'll have learned a lot after Meteora. The 2nd album is always the hardest one...

LP are not releasing an entire remix album which gives them alot of time to work on a 3rd album. So I believe that a 3rd album will be out around the summer of 2004.

come on guys, summer 2004, wtf are you guys on. LP said that they started working on meteora before reanimation so it would have taken them almost two years to write. if you want a decent album i think a couple of dvd/cd's like live in texas will keep us interested until they release a whole new one :argh:
