    What Dean said.

Also, for girls, I like the names Rosie and Katherine. Also Audrey.

You've got to keep in mind how your child's going to like the name. If you give him or her a name that's too "out there," he or she could get made fun of, and as lame as that sounds, it's something you've really got to consider.

For example, my middle name's (ugh) Leroy, and every time I tell someone that, they either ask me if I'm related to a black person (since Leroy's a common "black" name) or they ask me what farm I work on. Granted, the name comes from the French "le roi" which means "the king," but stupid little kids who'll make fun of you don't know that.

Just something to keep in mind.

Yeah, this is a good point. I've encountered people named Rainbow, Desire, Starllie, etc...and I'm sure they get a good amount of little kid criticism.

I like less usual names, simply because mine is so common. That being said, I have only ever received one negative comment about my daughters name, Donatella, and it came from an adult, who asked me "You really didn't name her that, did you?" His reason for this? He had told me previously that people would think I named her after a Ninja Turtle.

I probably would have brushed it off a lot easier if my friend that did this didn't wait until after I had been in labor for 22 hours and had an emergency c-section to call and ask me this when I was still in the hospital.

Yeah but...The Ninja Turtles are fuckin' awesome

No, I really like that name and it didn't come to mind as Ninja Turtles at first, only after you said that I was like "Oh that's badass."

I don't see why its would be a bad thing necessarily, as they are all named after some really great Italian artists. Some people are just stupid I guess. Anyway, no, I didn't name her after a Ninja Turtle, I named her after my cousin.

Hmm I guess. My nephew's name is Huon and he was named after the Huon Pine Valley in Tasmania because that's where he was concieved..but like a friend to me, sometimes when they are born you look at them and you say just by looking at them "Hmm..that's a..." but I don't wanna name my kid a ridicolous name they are going to get teased at school. We knew this one girl at high school her name was Charlotte-Titania Cox.
