Yeah, Detroit has been doing poorly lately, last night was their first win in 5 games I believe.

But how about those Calgary Flames?! 10-1 this month, I basically wrote them off at the start of the season but they are really turning it around!

I'm not happy about that, being a huge Av's fan...they've been struggling as of late, Sakic has no goals in 7 games now...

But the Canadiens are still going pretty strong! Yeah!
Mark: How about that nice stickwork by Eddie the Eagle last night vs. Boston? :p

That game was pathetic. Belfour must stop handling the puck.

The Leafs played flat the entire game, I didn't see any flashes of good play. It's a shame too, because they were on a four game winning streak.

Look for them to play better against Carolina and Montreal.

Indeed, for the last 10 games their play has been exceptional. I want them to keep playing well, I got McCabe in my pool :p

Pfft, the Sportsnet pool is free, not 99 cents a trade...

Although the grand prize looks nice :O

    *Sounding all professional*
    Sportsnet is still better!

    SportingNews is free.

You get two free trades a week, if you want extra trades, you pay 99 cents, but there's no obligation to buy. Or you wait a week and let your trades stack up.

Well, I'll stick with this pool....since it would be foolish for me to join the other one 1/4 of the way through the season. Besides, its tight competition between the four of us at the Sportsnet pool, some personal pride and money on the line here!

Who are you, PR for Sporting News?

I applied, but didn't get the job.

Actually, I use both Sportsnet and SportingNews and I just plainly like SportingNews more. More features, better point scoring system, more interactive.

But whatever floats your boat, hah.

Toronto lost in a shootout tonight to Carolina, that's too bad. But the good thing is that Buffalo beat Montreal, so when we beat the Canadiens tomorrow night, we'll only be two points back of them! :p

2 minutes into the game and the Avs already scored. Goddamnit.

    Holy shit.

    To Sharks: Joe Thornton
To Boston: Marco Sturm, Brad Stuart, Wayne Primeau

Can you imagine Thornton and Marleau on the same line? Wow.

Isn't Boston the only NHL team Thornton's been on until now?

Canucks and Avs are tied 2-2.

    Yeah.

And this Canucks/Avs game is great.

It's 4-2, and I hope the Canucks win. Beating the Avs is really important, cause it's a tight race for the top spot.

I'm so glad the Preds beat Calgary.:p

    Edit: Now 5-2

Yeah, I don't think anyone expected Thorton to stay with Boston after their bad start and after he was dangling himself in the free agent market for a while. Not sure if it's much of a surprise he's going to the Sharks, either, since they're also doing poorly.

Boston's off to a REALLY good start against the Senators (2-0 1st period). I wonder whether it's a fluke, cause the Senators have been on fire.
