Then again though, you guys told everyone that you were doing it. If you did the same thing to Newbie Camp, and not let anyone know about it, what are the chances that the section will be as desolate as Random Chat was?

Tomi makes a good point, but the people who are usually depending on posts in Newbie Camp are also the same people who play the post-whoring games in Random Chat over and over again. I say my welcomes in Newbie Camp because when I was a newbie, I liked other people welcoming me to a new board. It's just a token of friendliness. If you go to Random Chat and look at the users whose names appear most in the games, it's usually a balance between the same 5 people. ;)

Well, this thread isn't exactly the most stealth way of doing it, is it?

What some of you guys need to realize is that this board isn't customizable to your every whim. Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think it's going to happen.

We're rewarding them for being nice to the new people by letting their post counts go up. Who cares if it's original? It's certainly not a big problem. If we notice somebody blatantly spamming in there to heighten their post count, then we'll take action.

Why does post count matter. Someone with 1000 posts is not neccesarily better than a person with 10 posts. Yes, some people here may feel high and mighty with a 5 digit post count, however, the only thing the post count measures is how much time you have to sit in front of your computer and post on a forum.

    Why does postcount matter anyways?

You only get something for posting alot when you reach 1000, and that's only getting to change your custom title. What's after that? Nothing. Unless you're one of those people who strives to be in the Top 10 people with the most posts.

I think you were the one wondering why "Today's Top 10 Posters" wasn't updated a few weeks back.

Are you going to say you were, "just wondering"?

No, actually someone just pointed out to me that I kept being the first on the Today's Top 10 list.

Plus I just look there out of boredom sometimes.
