NME has just published a new interview with Mike Shinoda, in which he discusses the return of his hip-hop side project Fort Minor, artists he finds exciting right now, and what most people will be interested to read - offers some interesting info on the next Linkin Park studio album. Check out some quotes from the article below and head to NME to read the full article.

On the return of Fort Minor, Shinoda said:

He also spoke on hip-hop artists he's a fan of, mostly focusing on Kendrick Lamar:

And in the last paragraph focusing on the future of Linkin Park is probably the most interesting for the fans, read what Shinoda said below:

Who do you think the mysterious collaborator could be? Do you think it will it be for a song for the new album or a one-off single? Are you glad the song won't sound like "The Hunting Party"? Come discuss in our forums!

I'm betting on a one off single rather than something for the follow up to THP, I prefer LP to do their music independent and collaborate with other artists in a different way.

LP should finish ''What We Don't Know'' and make it a single on their next studio album.

Not really anyone I would be crazy about LP collaborating with off the top of my head except maybe Muse (idk what that would be I just love both). The collabs on THP are all really strong though so I'm happy with this.

    LINKIN PARK featuring Coldplay!

Just kidding, I don't think that'd ever happen though I wish. Cool to see they're still collaborating though.

I'd love to see a colab with kendrick. And if not kendrick then another rapper. I'm really hoping it's not another EDM artist. Both times linkin park collaborated with rappers the result was incredible and I think a colab with vince staples or mabye earl sweatshirt would be great.

An artist of that calibre would just be weighed down by Linkin Park, IMO, but Shinoda producing a track for someone like Kendrick would be cool.
