New LPTV: "Blackout" Freestyle

If this is the worst song on the album, colour me impressed. It already sounds epic.

No way the album can suck if this is the worst song.

 

um....what the fuck just happened? lol...in all the years ive supported these guys from day 1, i never wouldve heard the day Chester would rap...it sounds fuckin amazing..i agree with Mike: "It's blowing my mind"...cuz listening to this blew me the fuck away...especially with the screaming!! Chester's trademark!! I think Blackout shouldve been the first single lol. This song and the rest of the album will be E-PIC! September 14th cant come soon enough..wow. Thanks for postin this..love it to pieces.

 

I really doubt he'll be able to perform that live.

He just did...what we heard in the clip was ALL Chester. No effects. I don't see why he can't repeat what we just watched.

 

Sounds intense, but I wouldn't be too quick to get excited. The Catalyst sounded absolutely amazing from the stems, but then the synth sounds kinda brought it down a notch for me in the final version.

 

I agree it will be difficult, but he'll find a way to pull it off. He just sounded pretty damn good on that episode.

 

No he just recorded his vocal part in a studio and not during a show. He might have the same problem as with the "Given up" scream.

 

Not to get on a tangent, but I find that interesting. I had the complete opposite reaction from the stems. Then the full version got me pumped.

 

The only difference with this and a live show is that he's on a stage. That shouldn't change his voice...unless if blackout is played late in the show and he's tired beforehand. Then it might not sound as good.

 

Holy TITS. I fucking loved that. If this is the worst song on the album then A Thousand Suns is gonna be a damn masterpiece. Pop my ass.

The rap reminds me of RHCP... in a good way ^^

 

Actually if the instrumental is a bit more pop than Chester's voice, it would be nice to hear the contrast between the music and the vocals. Like Deftones usually do aggressive background guitars and drumming and really soft vocals. I just crazily love that combination.

 

Off-Topic: I think in the middle of next week it's time for the preview clips....

I like the last scream of the scatting version more than the one with words ( listen to the build-up in that last scream !!! ) because in the words version it's a little more 'flattish' ... although I think that the parts that we just heard might not even be final I'm wondering if you guys feel the same (?)

On another note: I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT!!! But I will take Ana's notes and keep them in mind, just in case hahaha !
