Love how an album that was rife with powerchords, formulaic song structures and cheesy lyrics (Meteora) can get more respect by some fans than an album that is genre-defying, non-formulaic and musically the most creative the band has been in 10 years (ATS). I really hope LP goes crazy the next album after this and permanently scares away the nu-metal clingers that whine, bitch and moan on the band's youtube pages. The fanbase will be much better for it.
Unfortunately at this point I'm convinced that if the band still exists 15 years from now and keeps releasing experimental albums on a regular basis, there will still be a bunch of 40-somethings with black clothes, body piercings and spiky hair expecting LP to release the album they've been waiting since Meteora.
